I thought he was ill? I'm sure that's what Plymouth said anyway. I hope riders aren't getting suspended for being ill

'They will also be without Bjarne Pedersen who is serving a mandatory seven-day suspension after being absent due to illness, with Erik Riss guesting in his place'

How come Craig Cook wasn't suspended for his recent mental illness then?

Absolutely ridiculous, being punished for being ill!

It should be exactly the same bearing in mind Ipswich got a facility, I presume that’s why Cooks return on Thursday is subject to start permission from the SCB.

From Dale Allit on Facebook

Bjarne unfortunately was ill Saturday so missed his meeting for Plymouth. That automatically gives a 7 day inactivity suspension so he won’t be able to ride Thursday. However he will be back for the home meeting on Monday.

One assumes somebody somewhere took the Mickey at some point with a rider being 'ill' and the rule was brought in to stop it happening thereafter.

I think this rule was brought in to stop riders and/or team managers pulling a fast one when said rider was due to ride at a track where he was rubbish - By putting in a 7 day ban it effectively means the rider will miss out on other meetings -

RR for Ully, Riss for Bjarne and Flint for Palin on Thursday at Ippo

Still think we will be competitive with this team.  Bjarne only got 6 last time at Ipswich, Riss got 8 for KL. Palin scored 0 so Flint cannot do any worse and we have Hans, Scott, Bomber and MPT to take Ulrich's rides.

This is Bjarne we are talking about he has never taken the pee when it comes to riders skipping meetings!! It is still ridiculous. Bit like when schools suspend you for skipping classes. If the cause is riders picking to miss meetings then they aren't gonna be that bothered. Will hurt club more tbh esp if it is a must win meeting.
