He was often an assistant and/or Team Manager. Not sure that he was ever a Promoter in his own right? I know that the five were Reg Fearman, Danny Dunton, Len Silver, Maurice Littlechild and, I think, Ron Wilson? A great quote from a well known promoter..."Wally walked over and looked me straight in the ear "...(priceless)

25yearfan
Did a sterling service at many tracks for a lot of years. One of his great feats was building Romfords track from scratch in a couple of weeks! He was still helping out in the late 90's when Dingle Brown ran Mildenhall! He must surely have been in his 90's when he passed away? Edited June 29, 2020 by 25yearfan
martinmauger
Speedway lost another character, believe he designed the original Hull Vikings body colour in 1971. RIP....

RobMcCaffery
One of my strongest memories of speedway at Eastville Stdium in Bristol was seeing Maurice touring the track by tractor, after racing had finished, taking up the shale to expose the sand for the next dog meeting.
PHILIPRISING
TERRIFIC obituary on Maurice by Peter Oakes, who knew him well and worked alongside him at times, in SS this week. Well worth a read.
