Well, I have that team pic. There are very few Dons' team photos I haven't got - or at least seen...

The reason you might have figured out how I knew Ray Tauser is because HE was a Don too! He won the Star Championship in 1931...

A piece linked to on that thread and I quote

A champion of no mean repute, a veteran of many races abroad and now at home in Portland, Oregon, is Ray Tauser. Ray started his career in the Pacific Northwest. Hearing of the activities of other American riders who were abroad he went to England in January, 1929. In one of his early appearances he broke the track record at Wembley Stadium. To establish a name for himself Ray had to beat such famous riders as Vic Huxley, Frank Arthur, Ron Johnson, Sig Schlam, Roger Frogley, Jack Barker, Collin Watson and Jim Kempster. On one or two occasions early in his career Ray raced against “Sprouts” Elder

A new style of captioning photos? TBH sheer nonsense and meaningless!

What about non- Wimbledon supporters? What does the caption mean to them? Or is this thread going parochial now?

Thought the thread was started because you wanted to know their names ? As a mod on a Dons group you now have the info you wanted, I think .

No I have not. Those nicknames mean noting to me. And most likely quite a few other non-Wimbledon supporters who may look in to see what's posted. And the photo as you imply is also on the FB group - again nobody seems able to name CORRECTLY or otherwise who is seen. To me its part of the usual trend you and others appear to enjoy - 'it's a gustix post/query let's eff it up for him!'

So, you really don't know who "Briggo" and "Salty" are? And you don't recognise them either?

All I did was make a casual and informal response to let you know that I knew the riders, and you think I am "effing it up" for you? I will go back and edit it, just for you...

You are a "non-Wimbledon supporter", yet you create a Wimbledon group on FB? Bizarre...

I was able to figure it out-even Salty for Brine (Re Ray Tauser-am not so good on pre War history chunky)

Well, he isn't as well-known as a lot of the other Americans of the day, but Dons fans know Ray! We actually had our fair share of Americans over the years...

The Wimbledon group was started at the request of other BB users who appeared shock the then only Wimbledon group had blocked my involvement with them. Hence its formation and from what I have been told - but am unable to verify - several members who switched to the new group have also been blocked by the old forum.

Not sure what the point of going through it all is. But the fact is your antics meant people were p'd off with you and set up another Wimbledon group. So the people who were shocked must have missed all of that. Not sure if that group still exists, but I guess seeing as you are blocked from the original there is no real need for the breakaway any more.....

But the breakaway group is doing well and has new members joining it every week. No reason as I see it to end. Or are there two breakaway groups - the one that I moderate and another breakaway group, plus the original one?

Well it doesn’t make sense if people are miffed at your antics, to then ask you to start up a group so they can get away from you. Does it ? Unless they were trying to get rid of you sneakily....
