An amusing development recently. Thread titles have become increasingly longer.  Which in your opinion has been 'the wordiest'

Shouldn't it be "increasingly long"? And surely it will be a fact, not opinion, which is the wordiest?

But at a quick glance, the Harold McNaughton thread?

I agree about the Harold McNaughton thread - in fact basically with your comment. Here are some others that I have noticed:

(1) Which British League Two/National League Team Produced The Most Riders For British League One?

(2)1950 Tamworth Second Half details wanted if possible Please.

(3) Who Was The Best Rider From The Old Second Division?

And just to recap waiheke1 the 'comment winning' Harold McNaughton thread title was: Harold McNaughton rode for Eastbourne, Hastings Saxons, Ipswich, New Cross and Southampton - late 40's early 50's

Sometimes it pays to be as explicit as possible when starting a thread as there is often some 'smart arse' out there only too willing to question what has been initiated and/or intended.

Slap wrist for Tony Mac initiating a long titled thread when listing the latest editorials in "Backtrack"...not sure how he could improve upon it?

Everyone is different Steve, when it comes to putting things into words. Variety is the spice of life.

Agree entirely but I'm not sure what point John is trying to make?

Does anyone!

My point (sorry chunky!!!) was that thread titles should be 'snappy' rather than 'long winded' as some have become recently. It appears I was wrong and fully accept that fact.

Why drag me into this?

Maybe not 'the wordiest' but the longest has to be the heading on the post by Phil on 23 October 2013 - Test Smiles.

Why? Because there's a mile between the first and last letter of the second word.

Yes, I know it's a very old joke and I can almost hear the groans.

This is true

I once went on a thread titled 'My speedway experiences', expecting to read about someone's personal speedway experiences, as you would. What I found was just a few tales about speedway riders that didn't particularly have anything to do with the person who started the thread. It didn't even appear that the person was present at the time and maybe never even saw the riders in question. Just a mish-mash

I know. I looked at a thread entitled "Years Gone By" thinking it would be an interesting thread about the sport in yesteryear, but it turned out to be about thread titles being too long and had nothing to do with "years gone by".

The thread title has been amended.

Too late. I've already wasted two minutes of my life.

Quit whining! I've wasted a whole day, worrying about why gustix dragged me into the conversation!
