pleasureboy60
While the majority of us are confined to our homes for the unforeseeable future. i thought i would take the opportunity to try and update and complete my Peterborough Junior and central league fixtures, including venues scores etc from 1978-1985. I have tried in the past to update these lists but it has proved quite difficult as results were more than often not published. Also some junior matches didnt always coincide with the corresponding first team fixture. I am missing quite a few Peterborough junior away fixture dates, results and track details, so if anyone could help, then i would be very grateful. 1978 Away: Boston, Mildenhall, Rye House. 1979 Away: Cradley, Crayford, Kings Lynn, Nottingham, Oxford,Reading. 1980 Away: Cradley,Ipswich, Milton Keynes, Oxford,Rye House, Swindon . 1982 Away: Ipswich, Long Eaton, Mildenhall, Milton Keynes. 1983 Away: Birmingham, Stoke, Swindon ( Peterborough juniors took over from Coventry half way through the season and completed their fixtures) 1985 Away: Kings Lynn, Long Eaton,Mildenhall, Stoke. 1986 Away:Boston, Mildenhall. pleasureboy60
Good afternoon. I just wanted to say a big thank you for the information you sent me regarding Junior league fixtures. I am now able to fill in a few more blanks. With reference to 1985. Mildenhall rode 3 times at Peterborough that particular season. 29/03 was a challenge match score Pet 39 Mild 38. 07/06 was a League match which was rained off. It was then rerun on 14/06 but was abandoned after heat 4 with the score at Pet 15 Mild 9. The meeting was then scheduled to be run on 25/10 but Mildenhall riders refused to ride because of bad track conditions. Hope that helps. pleasureboy60
Hi The only info I have is that Pet juniors ride against Mild on 26.07 and the score was Pet 18 Mild 6. Programme used was Peterborough v Glasgow. The second match was either on 07.06 or 05.07. I can't find any confirmation of which date was actually used, other than the fact that poss 07.06 was post and rerun on 05.07 programme was Peterborough v Edinburgh. Regards Barry If you have the full 2nd half details from that 26/07/1985 v Glasgow match I'd very much like to have them. 7th June v Mildenhall (NL) was rained off. Restaged 14th June which only lasted until heat 4 before weather intervened. I'd like to know if the A.J.L. match was rearranged but again rained off. 5th July went ahead v Edinburgh. however the A.J.L. match may not have been staged because... ...BSF member Nodlew produced a sheet of 1985 AJL dates & results which, when using all currently available info, indicate that the second Peterborough v Mildenhall match took place after 25th September. Speedboy, without wishing to hijack the thread, I wonder if you could post what you have for Mildenhall (home & away) as far as dates & scores go. I'd like to grab this chance to try and advance Nodlew's worksheet.
