Corona virus

Proving that you can't ever control a virus in a modern society, to think you can is delusional nonsense.

Must mention that no prisoners were allowed to leave the prison for any reason, apart from medical emergency, after March 23rd. In fact, many have been confined to their cells for 23 hours a day.

But they still interact with people who come and go from the prison. So your point of an extreme lockdown is nonsense because it is no such thing.

I think you might be missing the point. No one is immune from a virus whatever you do as lockdowns only delay things,

Bingo, you got it. That was the point. Delay things so the hospitals wouldn’t be overwhelmed. Flatten the curve was the mantra

Probably true, indeed one well known national journalist said on radio the other day that he was shocked that almost no one is challenging the government and the policies. In fact the opposition agree with them, just not the way they are implemented. Democracy died a long time ago.

Bless.

Sadly, flu/pneumonia figures haven't fallen, in fact they've remained fluctuating around their normal levels..

So the precautions have been shown to have done nothing to stop the spread of viruses.

You've been told many times that other than similar symptoms the flu and Covid act in different ways.  That is why one has reduced in numbers and the other hasn't.

When are you going to accept this?

Surely that is a good example of democracy.

And you've been shown that you are 100% wrong, so it doesn't matter how many times you say it.

As per the CDC.

HOW IT SPREADS

Both COVID-19 and flu can spread from person-to-person, between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Both are spread mainly by droplets made when people with the illness (COVID-19 or flu) cough, sneeze, or talk. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

It may be possible that a person can get infected by physical human contact (e.g. shaking hands) or by touching a surface or object that has virus on it and then touching his or her own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

Both flu virus and the virus that causes COVID-19 may be spread to others by people before they begin showing symptoms, with very mild symptoms or who never developed symptoms (asymptomatic).

Differences

While COVID-19 and flu viruses are thought to spread in similar ways, COVID-19 is more contagious among certain populations and age groups than flu. Also, COVID-19 has been observed to have more superspreading events than flu. This means the virus that causes COVID-19 can quickly and easily spread to a lot of people and result in continuous spreading among people as time progresses.

Meanwhile the WHO tells us:

How are COVID-19 and influenza viruses similar?

Firstly, COVID-19 and influenza viruses have a similar disease presentation. That is, they both cause respiratory disease, which presents as a wide range of illness from asymptomatic or mild through to severe disease and death.

Secondly, both viruses are transmitted by contact, droplets and fomites. As a result, the same public health measures, such as hand hygiene and good respiratory etiquette (coughing into your elbow or into a tissue and immediately disposing of the tissue), are important actions all can take to prevent infection.

.......................................................................................................................................

So in summary, you are completely and utterly wrong in your assertion that their differences are why the flu/pneumonia numbers have not changed in the past few months, whilst Covid has.

If anything, the fact that Covid is supposed to spread easier renders your suggestion even more invalid.

He is, as he is wrong and proven so without a single element of doubt.

Or perhaps he knows more than the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention), ONS (Office of National Statistics), WHO (World Health Organsiation) and every single other medical organisation in the world who state they are transmitted in the same way.

The latest radio propaganda sorry 'advert' from the government is a cafe owner who at the end says ' we must all follow the guidelines to stay open'.

Now I take this a veiled threat that if you don't do as you are told then we are all back on the naughty step.

When is anybody going to stand up to this dictatorship?
