Spl77
What diffence does it really make? Either way He isn't going to come back and not put 100% in. It might actually be easier for him if his son is over. One thing is for sure he'll be as committed and probably more so than some of today's star riders who are chasing Polish money and GP points.

Some are trying to cheapen the signing by saying he actually won’t be giving 100% and the only reason he’s back is to earn a little money to keep him and his son over here for the year to pursue his son’s racing career. You’ve got the like of Crescent Girl above who is telling us all exactly what’s in Jason Crumps mind and giving us the real reason he’s here, despite the man himself saying it’s a racing decision. Doesn’t say where he is doing his final year in school! Seth schools at Gold Coast Australia. He’s not going to school and be based in the UK alone at his age the last few years whilst his entire family remain based in Australia. Lord Skid
As the old Abba song said, Money,Money,Money, plain and simple, perhaps the oil business ain't to good in Oz. Nobody can beat the ageing process, especially sportsmen, and you sure as hell don't bounce as well when you get older, but good luck to him, will still be a big scalp for the crazy kids to get. That would make more sense, just a shame Jason doesn’t say I’m racing here whilst Seth finishes his schooling in the UK whilst he races bikes himself. would make it much clearer! In all honestly it makes perfect sense him racing here whilst he is here with his Seth. If that’s the real reason (as well as having the racing bug again) then just say so. People will jump to their own conclusions anyway.

Ghosty
The fact that Jason Crump is riding premier league Speedway 2020 for Ipswich is due to a unique combination of circumstances! To compare this with any other situation is not a true comparison. Jason's tallent/record puts him in speedways all time top ten. Rejoyce all U.K. speedway fans Jason & Niki will be putting "bums on seats".
crumpiefan
As the name suggests, I am a big Jason Crump fan. Had no inkling that he was coming back to ride in England so to put it mildly I was over the proverbial.......whatever the reasons its just great to hopefully see him ride again. Same goes for NP. Can only be a good thing for the sport., Maybe it can be a catalyst for it similar to the way 'marquee' signings helped the (then) struggling MLS in North America..? Top level competitors coming towards the end of their careers, but with still enough talent to compete, and a name and reputation that resonates outside the sport's own followers.. On the rare occasions I attend GB League Speedway I go to watch 'the speedway' with no regards as to who wins so the odd 'legend or two' on view will definitely stir my interest.. Hopefully do the same for a few more 'lapsed fans' around the country too.. Edited March 1, 2020 by mikebv

I think this was true of the old NL in the 70's you would get a few old time greats drop down at the end of their career's and do a season or two ,I remember watching Ken McKinlay helping riders in between races with setup in his Scunthorpe days ,got 9 paid 11 on the night aswell .

Ken came to workington in 1975 on a jap and scored a maximum as scunny beat the comets who had a top team that year.
GWC
I remember Peter Moore at Rayleigh in 1973 - unusual for the times handlebars with a very upright style. He would have been around the same age as Jason is now.

It must have been the only time Scunny won away in that era. The Quibell Park days were not the most successful times for Scunthorpe
