Probably more attending than a normal speedway meeting, don't know how stock cars have got round the rules regarding crowds, but SON will a near sell out so don't know how it's gonna happen

Call me a pessimist but I can't see the SON going ahead at Belle Vue.

I appreciate that it's a while away but things will have to change dramatically before a sold out grandstand (to say nothing of the standing area) could be tolerated in this country.

(And my family and I have three tickets pinned to my board at home)

You are correct.. although the use of the word 'tolerated' I am unsure of.

What would have to change dramatically is the government. It has nothing to do with the virus. That HAS changed dramatically.. it is now a minor, almost insignificant issue (in the grand scheme of things).

Deaths from viruses are at their lowest level for five years. In other words there hasn't been a safer time to attend a sporting event in the last five years (likely longer but don't have the figures).

By the time October rolls round, deaths will have increased, we're heading into winter. So essentially, if you can't have crowds now... there is no justification that you can EVER have crowds.

AS previously stated, BSI/FIM are pressing ahead on the assumption that there will be no paying spectators

And I guess on the assumption the FIM officials and others will be allowed into the country without going in a period of quarantine  ?

THEY could run with all British officials but, of course, the riders are a different kettle of fish although surely the F1 meetings at Silverstone have set a precedent with no restrictions on the drivers.

Does that mean a refund of Ticket money then?.

F1 has been classified as "Elite" though... Speedway (Domestic at least) has not.

Got to make sense to run in Poland this year and have it at nss next year with tickets being valid

It makes me smile when people say Do whatever it is next year... unfortunately there's no guarantee that we'll be in any different situation by this time next year.

Any news whether this will go ahead at Belle Vue with a full Stadium.

No chance of a full stadium as matters stand now.  Trials are being run in September in many sports like cricket and football but with distancing rules.

Ipswich hoping to host a British Final in late September as part of that experiment.
