If he had stayed on his bike any longer it would have ended up as carnage.

2 bikes and 2 riders in one almighty heap.

I don't know if you noticed but it did end up in carnage. If he'd held on to it a bit longer and tried to lay it down it may have been avoided. He decided to just throw his bike at Bellago instead though

Not sure how much time you think you have between a moment of losing control and the impact with something, it’s usually a split second and it’s not like you have a warning something is going to happen, you’re in full race mode and then bang, we see it tv in slow motion and think he should of done this or that but when you are the rider in real time you don’t get time to weigh up the options of what would be the best way to crash

I can appreciate all you say, all I'm saying is I think he was a bit quick in throwing the bike away, it wasn't as if he was near the fence, didn't even try to regain control of the bike, just threw it at the nearest rider

He doesn’t throw it, the bike has fired itself he has just let go but the bike was going to hit bellego anyway no matter he he was on it or not

Great to see Robert take a major title- well of course a lot have made fun of the competition in the past. Also good to see that all the hard work has paid off, despite getting a lot of criticism going to Germany at such a young age. I do remember having to defend him somewhat because it wasn't the british way of doing things. And although it isn't for everyone, if you are determined, getting on a 500cc at an early age can pay off. Good on ya

I don't. Robert has made huge strides this season, however he isn't the completely finished article just yet.  Yes he's beaten Tai in Polish League racing, but let's see how he goes in next years GP (assuming it's back running normally).  Tai will most definitely be challenging when Robert will do fantastically well just finishing in the top 8.  However, it's brilliant to have 2 British riders to support in the GP's once again and we now have a realistic chance of winning the SON later this year!

Never mind next year I can see Lambert getting a wildcard entry this year

Only for a single GP, or two if they race in both halves of a double header. The permanent wild cards were selected months ago.

There were only a few criticising him for going to Germany, theres always a few that don't seem to want to see English riders achieve their ambition. Many i think would like to see them be able to ride a 500cc a bit younger over here.It can only help them to achieve greater heights in the sport imo.

Very much enjoyed that from Lambert last night. Great to see him improve off the starts where it was his only major weakness in previous seasons.

This short series has also convinced me of just how much a bang-average rider Madsen is. His bike is somehow so much faster than everyone else’s off the bends and down the straights, yet he still flounders about in most races, dropping points by getting tangled up in battles with other riders. My Nan could score decent points on his bike.

There a few riders that would like to be as bang- average as Madsen. He explained tonight that his bikes are  aggressive and too strong for the slicker tracks. He was also saying that he hasn’t been well over the last few days.Im sure he will sort out his set -up come GP series.Interestingly riders are saying that the Polish tracks seem to be much slicker this season compared to normal.

ps

Is your Nan being called up to replace Batchelor at Rybnik:t:

What’s batchelor got to do with it?

Its not just Wednesday night Madsen flattered to deceive. I’ve noticed it over the last couple of seasons. Not saying he’s a bad rider at all (although silencer-gate has made me question many results of his since), but if riders like Sayfudinov, Woffinden, Zmazlik etc had that kind of speed in their bikes, where they could generate speed on parts of the track that no other riders  in the same race/meeting seem able to, they barely be dropping any points at all.

It’s not Madsen’s fault that he can set up his bike to work on parts of the track that the others can’t.How has he flattered to deceive over the last couple of seasons he was runner- up in the World Championship:blink:

It’s one thing having power in the bike but it’s got to be useable. The reason he gets his bikes out of corners fast is a skill of getting his wheels in line sooner rather then later. Ove Fundin was good at that. It’s documented he did not always have a fast bike, but he knew how to get the best out of the power he had - wheels in line ASAP is one track craft.
Madsen is carrying some bad injuries. His back is not in good shape, delaying an op until he retires as it may make matters worse rather then better. So if he has a weaker meeting occasionally it is understandable. Riders are not machines, they are humans.

Nonsense.

there has been times Woffindens bikes have looked twice as fast as anybody elses.

IMO Madsen is an extremely well set up rider , extremely talented and the best in the world atm.

he will be a world champion at least once.

Bang average my arse

Madsen is the best rider in the world at the moment. Fast, skilful and determined. Favourite to be WC which he would have won before but for injury robbing him. Think you need to reassess your opinion. It is not correct.

You're not questioning Ed Kennett's results then?

His back injury sounds nasty, not a nice injury to be carrying.
