Why didn't he try to sell/hand over the club and let somebody else take up the fight? He has taken a back hander to be Osbourne's spokesman, repeating the required line 'speedway is unviable'. Why would it be anymore viable 45m out of town? Terry may have played a big part in Swindon's recent success but Swindon' has a long history he has also played a massive part in its downfall.

Oh come on this drivel has been spouted for months now everyone knows that it was all lies and unless fans get together to fight and insist that planning conditions are met then that’s it everyone knows the ultimate outcome

I'm sure there must be loads of past, present and wannabe promoters just itching to take over a club with GI as their landlords?!!!

The Dog
Not a cat in hells chance that speedway will continue at the Abbey and even less likely a new stadium will be built. Its a crying shame but I don't see enough desire from anyone to force the issue and the likes of Osbourne and Russell will do alright out of it all despite their bluster that they are on speedways side
skydog
Unfortunately, I think Osborne played a blinder with Swindon. Make excuses why they couldnt run for a couple of years, then by the time they delivered the killer blow, half the supporters had moved on already. If this had happened immediately after the 2019 league win the fans would have been up in arms. They did a similar thing with us at Reading, promise a new track next year, oh sorry maybe the year after. Then maybe next year, before you know it, not enough people care...
martinmauger
Such a freaking shame re: Swindon. Nutshell: once all the housing started sprouting like daffodills, never gonna happen covenent or not, else there would be a track at the end of every street in every town, sad but true Like I said: a feaking shame..... Edited January 1, 2023 by martinmauger Hopefully improved grammar

proud panther
If Savills are so brilliant, why do they need the public to find a new site ? Sounds like more BS.

Racin Jason 72
Absolutely no need to look for a new site. There is a track and a landlord who has to build a new stand at the Abbey.

I'm afraid it sounds more of the same...the good folk of Swindon have been well and truly sold down the river with half promises and lies.
