Of course I have a vested interest with the future of Speedway Star in the balance along with those who work for Pinegen. I personally don't give a dame about GP,s or other countries I'm more interested in this country and British speedway and if that's upsets people then so be it. But it's about time we put our speedway first. Let's hope we can all watch our beloved sport some time this year.

Receipts from ticket sales at Prague, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Torun go to the organisers not BSI. Same with Togliatti. Cardiff tickets are no longer on sale. As a matter of interest Philip, do the individual clubs, i.e. Prague, Wroclaw etc set their own prices for tickets or are they answerable to other bodies ? In addition to Philip`s answer, i would imagine that the non BSI promoted ;GP`s are individually negotiated between the clubs and BSI. The fee that each club has to pay to hold a GP varies and is such that the local authority/tourist board normally provide money to bridge the gap between what the clubs can afford to stump up and what BSI want. The clubs will make a commercial decision on what they can charge for the tickets-ie Wroclaw was a sell out in 2019 and served up a fantastic GP so have upped the ticket price this year by around a quarter. iris123
Seems the president has now confirmed the border will remain closed for the next year. And asked the Czechs to appreciate the beautiful local landscape as travel abroad is restricted, as it travel to CZ for foreigners https://news.expats.cz/weekly-czech-news/czech-borders-should-remain-closed-for-one-year-says-president-milos-zeman/ Edited April 20, 2020 by iris123
uk_martin
You can have half a SGP. EU nationals can now enter Czech Republic if they are "on business". So that's OK for all except those riders from Russia, UK, & Australia. Still, who needs Woffinden, Doyle, Fricke, Laguta and Sayfutdinov eh? And who needs a crowd? Let "normal service" continue on 13th June, as to BS insist upon. https://news.expats.cz/weekly-czech-news/eu-citizens-may-enter-the-czech-republic-for-business-trips-formal-matters-as-of-monday/

Choice to be made. Edited April 25, 2020 by Mark

paul666
The Marketa may put on the SGP in June, but will there be any flights to get us to Prague? BA cancelled our flights this morning very pissed off. Can't re-book as no idea when or if it is going ahead.

Are you aware of what's currently happening?

Wheras when the GP gets cancelled, if your flight was still valid you wouldn't?

Are you seriously saying going to Prague to watch a SGP sitting on a plane for two hours eating drinking in Prague using public transport sitting in the stadium- it’s worth the risk of getting COVID ??
zlata prilba
If the borders are to open over the next few months it wouldn't be a bad idea to move the Cz GP to same weekend as the Golden Helmet ideally you could scrap the Blue Ribbon Edited May 3, 2020 by zlata prilba
