Rob B
I'd guess they will seed riders into Challenge and probably have it in October like it use to be.

But in a typical Castagna-style ... He is putting the cart before the horse ... I doubt there will be a meaningful number of SGPs possible in 2020 to even warrant caring about a qualifying event for 2021
DutchGrasstrack
Federations can send riders to the challenge.... FIM will chose however how many place each federation will get.

Only in the mind-baffling world of speedway can you cancel a qualifier (Abensberg) for 1st June, in the same country where you are still selling tickets for the SGP (in Teterrow) , 2 days earlier.

Two totally didferent parts of the country with different local governing and rules like iris123 has pointed out. Different promoters as well. And only a day since the qualis were cancelled. Not that baffling at all.

Moto Gp in Germany now cancelled ,don’t see any chance of Teterow going ahead.IMO.Also states that German government and regional state government have agreed no major sport events till end of August. screm
Now the qualifiers have been cancelled I think the GP Challenge should be to, and the longer these lock down restrictions apply I am coming round to the opinion the SGP series should be cancelled to. Clean start for 2021.

Teterow isn’t going ahead in May for sure. But for some reason there is still no official announcement by BSI / FIM. I think they are waiting until they have a replacement date. Teterow club said something about September or even October.

Was actually on tv after the government announcement that Teterow Bergring was cancelled. I just assumed it was the whole weekend, but maybe the promoter just decided to call off the grass track ? But tbh there has been talk for a while that the GO would be moved to Autumn https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.svz.de/sport/lokaler-sport/lokaler-sport-guestrower-anzeiger/Bergring-Speedway-Grand-Prix-und-Guestrow-Rennen-abgesagt-id28036577-amp.html Edited April 18, 2020 by iris123
