Wasnt that to cover the storm damage on the Roger Webster stand when they had to replace the wood at the back of the stand or else it would have to be closed to the public? Never been a fan of sidecars on a speedway track personally. Try being the bloody start marshal for the sidecars! They are like 1,000 CC rotavators which can dig a trench from the start line to the first bend. I had blood running down the inside of my trousers as a result of being hit by flying shale. Never again.

Barrow Boy 2
Neil Machin is no longer a Leicester Co Promoter. I thought I saw somewhere that he had become involved elsewhere.

Teromaafan
I know someone who emailed the club regarding the roof covering repair on the home straight. The response? See if you can guess from the following options: a) No need for repairs, the current tent will be replaced with a permanent structure incorporating a fully enclosed bar and restaurant facility. b) Sit somewhere else. c) Bring a transparent (so that you do not obscure the view of others) umbrella. d) .................................No.....................reply.

flagrag
Happy Hunter - I don’t believe planning permission amendments are required as plans do not involve moving the poles or increasing height. It will include new brighter bulbs and changing the angles as they are still set in position for the original track when built .
Happy Hunter
I think I have a copy of the planning permission somewhere. If I can find it I will see what it says but I think that the brightness of the lights might have to be below a certain level to prevent light pollution. flagrag
Happy Hunter- Nothing to worry about the new bulbs and light pollution as the light will be more focused on the track so less light will be escaping the stadium than previously as well as being better for the environment as less electricity will be used .

Mr Bump
Bigger crowds came to earlier starts in 2019 & it’s better for families too. Might also save a few quid on the leccy bill I guess
Lenny Lion
http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.31608.1 As someone who worked hard & raised money I am totally disgusted by the club, this stand was built & paid for by the supporters in conjunction the supporters club to be known as the supporters club stand . It even has our plaque & names on the back of the stand but no doubt that will have been removed for an oversized advert. Along with forcing members of loyal staff out of the club like myself who they had never even met before taking over, this is another symbol of the current owners having no respect for their customer or the former staff who only tried to promote their club.
