Yeah but how will they cope with the tight turns at Brough. Very risky strategy by Newcastle, lots of unknowns in this team. Will Vissing maintain his starting average, doubt it. Wright is another unknown, not ridden in a while and how will he come back. Mountain is good signing, we know what we are getting from Wethers and Clegg, hopefully they can both kick on again next year. The fact we are 2 points under already puts pressure on the team to make up that difference. Team has potential but so did the 2019 team, positive is that we have a team for 2020, only time will tell if the gamble pays off.

Looks like he will cope OK as some of the European tracks that I've watched him on and still watching some now on YouTube he likes the inside line very much like Pepe franc did & he seems to have plenty of speed as well as Chris holder found out

Yes, he gave us a story with anagrams incorporated of the riders, but it was another poster that solved the puzzle. teaboy279
It's a stronger team then they may have had just a couple of weeks ago. If riders dont perform they ll be replaced anyway. With 6 sides making the play offs any side going unbeaten at home will qualify regardless of away results unless they are very unlucky. Never like to see teams written off before a wheel is turned, it's not the strongest team on paper, but nothing is ever won on paper in speedway.
Col
Unless James Wright can find his form of a decade ago, might as well hand the Wooden spoon out.

Justgotmecpc
Can't understand why keyboarders say things on here rather than to people's boat races as I'm sure most know who THJ is as he seems to be taking a lot of flack
Justgotmecpc
Also tsunami took a bit of flack for defending his opinion on the team as well.. so let's grow up & back granty & George for 2020 and dalbers Edited December 22, 2019 by pienpeesman Spelling errors

On big fast continental tracks though, they will find the tighter tracks over here a bit more tricky certainly to begin with. Personally I rate Smetana and IMO he could become a very good scorer for Newcastle over the next few seasons.
DC2
Out of interest, who was the last assessed rider to make a 7 point average in his first season? That’s what one of them needs to do!
Neila
Don't know if this has been said but Smetana rode in gp qualifier at Glasgow and scored 6 points and looked like would hold his own in most races. Good luck to the diamonds you still have a team to support, unlike me over on the west coast

So he will probably score well at Berwick after the bends are taking in so there will more chance to attack entering the corners now rather than having to go high up on the line to cut back on the inside for a pass... Should be better racing now

There’s no real sign at the moment that Smetana or Skorja are in the same class as Holder or Kurtz. Still, I agree, it’s more exciting for Newcastle fans and the league generally that two new continentals are coming in rather than Ludwig Lindgren, Bjerre or Kus. 1
