It sounded like a farewell but hopefully not. They are not showing league speedway next season.

Would have got within 12 imo. But all speculation. You also had 2 wins at Ipswich but bottled it when it really mattered.

We certainly bottled it. Choked. No way were Ipswich good enough off their own backs as it showed in the final. Bagpuss
Unfortunately Ipswich were on fire early on in the season and have gradually gone off the boil whereas Swindon have got better with every meeting.....ended up being a mismatch when over the whole season there wasn’t a great deal between the sides. Bash
You can only beat what is put in front of you and even trying to cheat showed you just weren't good enough. You didn't beat us as you relied on your own riders in the semi instead of using guest like you do most years. Bash
What does it say about your team then we showed plenty of fight in the semi unlike your youngsters. How does the song go when the going gets tough, Poole try cheating. Edited October 17, 2019 by Bash
Steve Shovlar
Well it’s been fun tonight. For me anyway. Well done to Swindon. It was their year and to be honest if they hadn’t won the title it would have been a surprise. Congratulations. I’m off to bed. Flight to Venice in the morning and then onto the Italian Alps for some flying for a few days, weather permitting. Enjoy your championship. Shame we can’t challenge it back next season but it looks like we’ll be visiting different clubs in 2020.

If it hadn’t rained at 7 pm in the first leg of the semi at WR, we would have demolished Ipswich by at least 20, meaning it would have been us in the final. Then Matt would have made a few more bumps and Doyle would have struggled along with the other gating tarts. Poole winning 58-32 and cruising it tonight. I know it. Rosco knows it. Would have been title number 9. Edited October 17, 2019 by Dogman1959

Eddie made a few visits to Waterden Rd, entertaining the fans with a few jumps during the interval. I remember Chris Galvin (Andy's dad) being talked into putting his new Rolls Royce on the end of a line of motors. He wasn't too happy about it, but Eddie cleared them comfortably! He also had a go at the regular Saturday training sessions I recall. Sad to see the situation he's in now, but he obviously still enjoys his motorbikes. Was waiting for some sort of confirmation however they mentioned the GP next year at Cardiff so who knows. Kelvin and Nigel have been saying they have really enjoyed themselves with all the travelling the past few weeks. Maybe a hint but nothing seems clear. 42 minutes ago, Steve Shovlar said: They are not showing league speedway next season. That we don’t know.
