Can't see one man preventing the leagues amalgamating if that's the way the BSPL want to go. Two leagues, imo, is suicide for British Speedway. And as for CVS saying Wolves will only compete in a top league I must be missing something as only one rider, Lake Becker, rode exclusively for Wolves last year so the other 6 riders were riding in the 'lesser' division. British Speedway has turned from being the best in the world to a joke. Pieman72
Wolverhampton can run a speedway team but they need to field a team containing British riders and affordable ones too. The promoter and his followers should lower their expectations and they might survive. It's so sad when there are riders local to Wolves who would relish the opportunity to race. What about a Shale Track Racing Venue as I'm sure Entain wouldn't turn down a viable prospective proposal. If the nominated heat 15 points don't count then why bother having it. Ht15 can be the most expensive ht for promotions and I remember if a match had been won by ht top riders on higher pay wouldn't be nominated. Equally some riders had contracts saying if they wanted to ride in ht 15 they could even if they had scored poorly. GWC
How many still fill in a programme or buy one at all? A lot of people I see are not aware of averages or team positions and what they mean. It’s racing that is the attraction for many whether it’s heat 2 or heat 15. A radical move would be to combine the leagues give clubs the chance to race on their chosen day. Reduce rider costs but less income so would hasten the sport to a part time activity. We won’t see the likes of Woffenden or Lambert or Bewley but hopefully will produce riders to fill their place.

ellioth4
WOLFPACK SPEEDWAY SUPPORT TEAM Passionate supporters of Wolverhampton Speedway are proud to announce the launch of the Wolfpack Speedway Support Team. Following the COVID-19 outbreak, the future of many businesses was put into considerable doubt. Wolverhampton Speedway was one such organisation. With the help of fans contributing to a Go Fund Me page, the club was able to continue with restricted crowds towards the start of the season. Speedway clubs are continuing to struggle in what is a difficult economic landscape. With this in mind, the aim of the Wolfpack Speedway Support Team is to help to guarantee the future of Wolverhampton Speedway. We’re asking Wolves fans to contribute £5.00 per month to help the club. We’ll then use the funds for specific items – for example, to help purchase new equipment at the track or to help with one-off costs incurred by the club’s management. All members will receive regular newsletters, which will detail the funds we’ve raised and how they’ve helped the club. We’re also planning prize draws for members, to win both cash and memorabilia. Please help us to ensure the long-term future of Wolverhampton Speedway.
