IainB Posted June 10, 2021 Report Share Posted June 10, 2021 You have to wonder why, in the opening weeks of the season, Wolves (and other clubs) haven't budgeted accordingly. I think viewing live Speedway at this current time with limited numbers is a privilege and they could rightly justify increasing admission prices to cover costs and then reduce them when full capacity was allowed. Also, one has to question, has British Speedway done anything to cap the costs involved with the sport? Wolves council also reduced the ring road speed limit from 40mph to 30mph. Standardise HOW? Any form of standardisation would mean some dumming down, a few improving up, the majority running as now...how does that save money, in fact it would cost money. I don't know, I'm no engineer, maybe the banning of "trick" parts. Instead of buying an engine and throwing half of it away and replacing it with "special" replacements a simple seal on the engine casing. I think the 4K limit was for indoor venues , for Football when crowds returned from 17 May for outdoor events it was 10,000 or 25% of your capacity whichever was lower. So Wolves are allowed a percentage, nobody seems to know the exact figure, it keeps changing from different people from 900 to 800 to 750. Still doesn't alter the fact,it 'should be the same rules for all sporting venues. As I said earlier why was Wolves FC only allowed 4000 to attend the match against Utd when Molineux has a capacity of 32,000.Wolves chief Jeff Shi said at the time they had no say in the matter, and it was the council who decided on that figure.Sorry ,but its seems wrong,if its one rule for some,and a different rule for another .
