The schedule and specification of activities will be determined by PZM and Ekstraliga Żużlow. What's important: the league will start, but without the supporters. On May 8, 14-day isolation of players from all participating teams will begin. Then speedway riders will have the opportunity to train. The games will last until the end of October. The question, however, is whether by 12 June players will accept the new rates proposed by PGE Ekstraliga. It`s not strictly true that it`s the federation(PZM) but the Extraleague who think they can do what they want- they even annoyed the PZM a couple of seasons ago when they re arranged a league match on a Thursday date which was the date for the Polish championship(IMP) qualifiers. My opinion is the FIM should have made Friday qualifying when it became timed laps and i do believe the Extraleague would have backed down as there are plenty of other friday`s they could have used. The teams can't go straight into the Ekstraliga without riders dialling in.

HGould
Basic economics Polish Speedway can survive in this mode for 2020. It appeases TV / Sponsors / Public and allows riders to "earn" 50% of Polish earnings are still 5 times what they could earn elsewhere. They will spend LESS with no GP or alternative meetings / travel and will spend 4 months in a speedway form of Japanese Sumo enclave. You can't knock the Poles. What are the BSPL/SCB doing, other than working day to day with no clear plan or strategy other than to play Quizzes on a Friday night, give caps away as prizes and allow the Dominic Cummins of UK Speedway to flog off cheap publications to dormant Clubs, that they won't allow to race any more but are happy to rip off. You can when it's to the detriment of the sport elsewhere. You would be happy if the GP series was scrapped and other leagues stripped of riders, just so they could run their league?

Wouldnt be unfair so long as it was made clear from the start. They would then have a free choice between the Polish league for 2020 or a World Championship career. After that you make your bed and you lay in it.....

Seems like the manager of a lightweight calling out a heavyweight to a fight. There can only be one winner, so what it the point of trying to go head to head ? It is going to be difficult enough to try and fit so many fixtures into a short period of time. Let alone that probably when racing is ready to start you can almost bet the weather will turn bad after this long dry period....

How has that worked out through history???
iris123
One person say's bully, another thinks they are looking after their own interests. I mean it is not as if when Britain were in that position they didn't try the same thing. A few occasions they banned foreign riders and one time there was even a real bit of bullying going on when a reigning world champion was threatened with a ban from the world championship if he didn't tow the line.... Tbh I would rather like to see the FIM get a kick up the backside. Maybe what is needed is a real breakaway and the control being in the hands of the big boys in the sport, rather than being run by the minnows? Mark
PGE Ekstraliga starts on June 12. Meanwhile, on April 30, there will be changes in regulations, primarily the Rules of Club Affiliation with attachments and a completely new Sanitary Regulations - in force in PGE Ekstralidze until the epidemic state. The final is scheduled for October 11. On May 1, a seven-day transfer window will be opened at PGE Ekstralidze, and players will be able to sign annexes updating their contracts. From May 8, the beginning of the fourteen-day quarantine for all competitors who are currently outside of Poland is scheduled . Quarantine rules are governed by separate state regulations. All players staying in Poland and their teams will be required to minimize activity outside the home to protect their health. After quarantine, but not earlier than May 23, the listed persons and functionaries at PGE Ekstraliga competitions , whose names will be soon presented by the clubs to PGE Ekstraliga, undergo compulsory genetic tests for COVID-19 (they will take place in the cities of PGE Ekstraliga clubs). Functional persons on behalf of PZM will also be tested, i.e. track judges and commissioners. The costs of the tests will be covered by Speedway Extraleague together with the clubs. Assuming negative results of tests for the presence of COVID-19 in all persons mentioned, individual and team training in PGE Ekstraliga clubs will start no earlier than May 29 a In addition, each day, until the end of the competition or cancellation of the epidemic status, all match participants, including players and their teams, will be obliged to monitor their health via a special form. The temperature will also be measured for every person entering the facility before matches and training - as part of the current sanitary regime of PGE Ekstraliga. In case of health problems of players or people working on matches, all decisions regarding their health and further procedures will be made by Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations . A special function in PGE Ekstraliga games will be performed by a sanitary commissioner , who will be delegated by each of the clubs, and his task will be primarily to care for compliance with sanitary requirements. and will last until the start of the competition, which results from the new PGE Ekstraliga schedule Due to numerous media inquiries related to "frostbite" of PGE Ekstraliga games, we also present some sanitary regulation rules . As part of the games, a number of organizational changes will be introduced. Before the competition there will be no technical control, the introduction of the telemetry system has also been suspended, the number of turnarounds has been reduced, there will be no traditional presentation, and each player will be able to have only one mechanic in his box during the match. Zones are planned within each facility at PGE Ekstralidze : a turret, a machine park, a plate, a technical park, and an outdoor zone of the stadium. Each of them will be able to stay a certain - constant - number of people. In the machine park, as well as other zones, apart from training trips on the track of players, as well as the races themselves in matches of PGE Ekstraliga, there will be an obligation to keep a distance of two meters between people. All guidelines for players will be included in a special sanitary manual for players, which will also include the principles of safe training and matches. This year's season at PGE Ekstralidze will take place without public participation in the stands until the ban on mass events is lifted by the competent state administration bodies. All matches will be broadcast by nSport + and ELEVEN SPORTS . The competition is scheduled to end on October 11.

Only personal opinion but I can't see crowds at sporting events this year anywhere bar the USA. They have a leader who has his own ideas. Nor can I see the Poles withdrawing the 14 day quarantine rule for a long time. By May 8th we will know the riders who will stay in Poland until October to ride Ekstraliga. Those riders won't be riding in GP's or Euros outside of Poland in 2020. Edited April 28, 2020 by Mark
