Spl77
We have been lucky to have some true entertaining riders over the years. The pole who came in for a few meetings at the tail-end of 2005 or 06 was a real crowd pleaser. For the Thursday rerun nights maybe we could see some national league action with the young Louis loram and moggo maybe witches v Hackney?

Interesting racing and a punch up. Definitely the meeting that cost us the league that season.

The Green / Parker clash was during the return home league match at Foxhall, with Green being given a taste of his own medicine. The match at the County Ground finished with David Norris breaking his neck, Dean Standing sidelined for a few meetings after being dumped in the fence, Chris Louis being on the wrong end of a dodgy move and general fisticuffs all round! Green was certainly quick and able to pass but always seemed to want to take his opponent right out or into the fence, I think Parker was on the receiving end of one of those moves as well. Going on memory here I think Steve Regeling was involved in the Norris incident but Green dished out the rest. Ipswich were at Poole the following night with only one fit heat leader! What also sticks in the memory is Moggo riding round after the last race at Exeter, standing on the seat with one leg sticking out backwards at quite a speed! Stayed out quite a while winding up the locals, so unlike the normally shy, retiring Moggo....

Moggo did that too at Poole to great applause - promptly followed by the Poole tractor driver doing the same, which brought the house down!!! Great fun.

Great fun. Yes remember that as well. Not sure if it was the night after or later on in the cup semi final? Also seem to remember that the tractor driver wasn't your natural athlete and did well to maintain the pose for a couple of laps!

Spl77
Those NL days were superb. A great mix of huge young talent, entertainers, and hard/dirty riders. Always had a buzz of excitement about the place. Go on Ipswich speedway/rerun put some of these matches on.
Arch Stanton
Getting frustrating now with this glorious weather. How good would it be getting to Foxhall tonight? What’s even more frustrating is seeing packed beaches all over the country, being able to drink a pint in a pub next weekend and then go and sit in a Cinema and watch a movie, but not able to watch Speedway outdoors! The 2 meters rule being reduced to 1(plus) would surely make it even easier for the majority if not all clubs to implement social distancing in Stadiums?

Likewise, I don't get the delay. 4th July would seem entirely feasible under the announced guidance - but then there are inconsistencies all the way through. A hairdresser can open but not a nail bar??

Possibly because the hairdresser's can cut from the back, but you have to be face on and up close and personal to do nails, also much more important for a haircut than false bloomin nails. How about reflexology or is there a danger of getting some covid juice on your big toe?

Don't know how many women's hairdressers wash hair from the back, nearly always face to face. Inconsistencies is why people are confused and not complying with the guidance. Speedway has very limited risk and I think should be able to resume now.
Spl77
I was just wondering seeing what Wolves have said if there is no speedway this year or Ipswich decide not to run would they resign the current 1 to 7 for next year?
