Hackett
As a number of teams have 2020 topics already - seems to be a good time to consider the Eagles options for next season. Already announcing after the final meeting on Saturday that Lewis Kerr and Kyle Newman will remain with Arlington side subject to agreement with their parent clubs, and confirmation of the overall league structure of the sport next year. Certainly those two riders would of been the first two names on my team sheet. Kerr has been excellent this season and is certainly a fans favourite. Newman has been excellent and has offered stability to the side and got better as the season has gone on. It is probably just a matter of time before Tommy Brennan is announced ; now that he is back on the bike. Depending on the average limit It would be a surprise if they didn't go for Edwards having offered him a couple of months to gain experience at Championship level.

Hackett
If there is no major change to league set up - one league ... think Eagles will stick to their word.
Hackett
Will all depend on the format of the league and the team averages. At Arlington this season the usual heat-leaders - Schlein, Ellis, Worrall etc have scored well - Broc Nicol was excellent but likely to be touted by most teams in PL + CL. Riders under the radar that could be options - Anders Rowe was excellent down at reserve for Somerset. Ellis Perks' has previous at Arlington and was certainly a far better rider than he was at the NL and can gate could be a snip on his average. Other options could be Ricky Wells who has a history of riding small tracks well after all those years at Monmore and Josh Pickering did a decent job on a couple of occasions. Hackett
“The big thing with Speedway sometimes is having a bit of security.” Jason Edwards says feeling a sense of belonging at Eastbourne will help him develop at a quicker rate - and the Eagles plan to include him in their 2020 side. So it states in Speedway Star. So if correct that is one of the reserve slots covered.

If he wants to ride for Eastbourne he will get it, who wants to employ a rider who doesn't want to ride for you, that said if he wants to go back to Poole thats where he'll be. ProudtobeaBrummie
I hope you sign Tom Brennan up again and hopefully he can carry on from where he was before his terrible injury .
TurnTwo
Newman will be at Poole, local boy, parent club, best seasons of his career there, local to sponsors. Money talks
Hackett
Now that Poole are likely to join the CL - I would think that the Pirates will have first option as it is his parent club and on his doorstep unless new manager / Dark Lord of Wimborne Road decide they want him in the team. Tom Brennan will be back I would imagine Eagles will announce after the AGM once team averages are announced.

Wish him well although I don't think it's any surprise Eastbourne have taken him on again as that average will have scared a few off after such a bad injury. A noble gesture by the Eagles though at a time when many clubs churn riders in and out for fun. (Brummies included)

(Brummies included) Never really been Eastie's way to chop and change, sometimes to their detriment, and keeping Tom is like keeping family disregarding his starting average, can't think they'll be any Eastie fan who's not pleased. I do believe as long as he stays fit and well all season he'll finish around that average which would be an achievement for him.
Hunters
Another innovative idea from Ian Jordan, an interesting survey and the opportunity to suggest preferred signings for 2020 based on a 40 points limit. Does this mean he knows 40 is the limit. My contribution was 1 R Lawson 2 K Newman 3 ?? (7.17 points available) 4 T Brennan 5 L Kerr 6 G Wood 7 J Edwards Josh Pickering would be great at 3 but unlikely. I don't think Tom is any risk at all and will not be fazed by his accident, he is so enthusiastic and has been itching to get back on his bike for a long time. Another month in Australia and more big track experience will see him improve on last years 6.05 and provided he has no more injuries will be in the 7's . I know some will be doubtful of Georgie but he was coming on well until his back injury and if he can stay in the reserve slot he will be invaluable at home and should start getting some good points away . At 40 limit most teams are going to have to shed a heat leader and bring in another NL lad which could be food and drink to Georgie. If his average increased too much then Kyle wood drop down to reserve with the same effect. My main doubt is whether they bring another 2.0 pointer (Danny Spiller??) in for Georgie, giving enough points to have Ed Kennet back as third heat leader. Interesting days. Facebook says Ian Smalley? Question is very clear "With a purely hypothetical average points limit of 40 points, what Riders would you most like us to retain / most like us to sign for 2020?" Nice isea though, more Clubs should do this, I know Redcar have.
Hunters
I don't get involved with Facebook and the others , not my cup of tea and I am afraid I have never heard of Ian Smalley. I did however participate in the 21 question survey on the Eagles Web Site of which this was No19 I would like to have put Bradley Wilson Dean at no 3 but don't know whether his average would be based on his PL last year or Cl the previous year. woofers
Kyle Howarth, at (7.15) would fit that team. Wouldn't mind seeing Broc Nicol (5.16) or Danny Ayres (5.51) riding for the Eagles.
