Poole 2020

It's a sad day when any club leaves the Premiership and in some ways, more so when it's a club like Poole, who have been so successful. If it were my club dropping down it would be  an understatement to say I would be very disappointed but I would continue to support them whichever league they were in. Far better to be in a lower league than to close down.

I have watched a lot of second tier racing and it can be just as entertaining as the top tier. For some,  It can be more a psychological issue knowing that the overall standard of riders you are watching is lower. Overcome that and just enjoy it.

I wish Poole and all of their supporters well in the Championship. I have my doubts but I hope that  the expected financial savings work out and that crowd levels are maintained, if not improved.

Just in from Steve Shovlar, precariously balanced on the white cliffs of Dover:

“We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far awayyyyyyyyyyyy .... “

Over and out.  :)

TBH I didn't think it would happen. I hope it's not a mistake by Ford.

Not sure there’s going to be too much sympathy for Poole.

Many on here remember only too well the skullduggery employed by the Pirates over the last decade. The average dropping identified by the great Leigh Adams by Poole riders at Swindon during one particular league match, the win at all costs and the “innovative” use of the rulebook, means many speedway fans can’t help but have a wry grin on their faces as the 2020 season approaches.

I admit I've never been a Poole fan. for the reasons above. A few Poole fans on here have the same "win at all cost" attitude and it don't go down well with some on here, including myself. .Dropping the loyal  Mr Poole  Chris Holder like a stone when them silly team building averages came out said it all..

I was one of only a couple who thought Ford was bluffing to get something he wanted in 2020. Seems I was wrong. I'll take any flack for that no probs.I guess the silly season begins. Roll on March.
