arnieg
As far as I can see Crump has done nothing to indicate he has any interest in returning to Britain. Every Summer he rides a couple of meetings in Australia and this seems no different from previous years. In previous years there was no speculation about Crump returning - the talk of his 'comeback' seems to be more of an indication of Peterborough's desperation than any real possibility of him coming out of retirement and riding full time.
scoobydoo
Did Nicki Pedersen give any initial indication he was returning to british speedway before he signed, maybe with Crump its was supposed to be kept under raps until talks had taken place to see if an agreement could be reached as hes going to be in the UK with his son and what his thoughts and plans were, but its been leaked out, funny that it came from Belle Vue and not Peterborough Edited February 8, 2020 by scoobydoo
Bagpuss
It may well be 2+2=5 but when you think about it I reckon there is a good chance it could be true. Just riding 25-30 meetings in a league where he could hold his own and where he will be based anyway for most of the year makes sense, plus there is obviously a desire to race there as he does so in Oz. Also seeing Pedersen and Hancock still competing in their forties must encourage him that he can still do it. It would certainly go down well with British fans. gazzac
Only thing is Pedersen and Hancock have never stopped riding at the top level. Really can't see Crump wanting to, or being able to get back anywhere near the level he was at retirement. Would love to see the Crump of old but not a pale imitation. It's been mentioned about Crump being Peterborough team manager, that would be closer to the mark than any track return IMO.

JCookie
I reckon he'd still get a 6.5/7 point average in this league, he was pure class back in the day and it's not as if he's out of shape or was forced to retire purely because of injury. arnieg
Steve Johnston is riding at Perth next weekend. Maybe this means he'll be the next Panthers target?

No idea and isn't that part of the problem. They haven't said, only mentioned the problems that they seeming didn't try to fix before kicking them out, thereby losing the sympathy vote for at least trying before taking the action the club would slam the EoES for doing (well previous promotions who cared that is). One assumes that it's a fair few or what's the problem with the traditional arrangement and trying deal with the club's organisational gripes and alleged steward abusers? If you want the advice of a Bees fan, you'll wait till half way through the season before bringing him in like we did at Brandon. Then you'll win the league. He would fly round the showground, not sure how he would have gone at Ipswich. This while crump thing must be a joke... surely ?
