Absolutely gutted if Jake goes to Redcar but THJ has eluded to this fact & even though it is not a direct announcement, he is normally one "in the know" & has eluded to this on the Redcar forum.

Pleased for Jake, really, & with the travel situations for some riders riding in Europe, I can see him supplementing his wages with guest appearances in the Championship & Premiership.

Well when I posted the top one on "APRIL THE 1st" it didn't get that many bites IS now did it...

Well apart from "Soft Lewy" at Plymouth but we will forgive him that little nibble...

I got 7 laughs on this one

Rob Godfrey has had to use his high status figure head to finally find a rider to replace Jake Allen although, it has restrictions in place. The said rider is J Garrity which will not go down with some on here, but it is with the proviso that he travels from his "home", tagged & with a guard in a standard vehicle. All his operational gear will be maintained at the club & will travel from the EWR , when required.

His attendance is based on him being able to travel "home" before midnight. On the proviso where this is not possible, IIR can & may be used.

Another option which was looked in to was the possibility of signing Maksym Drabik, as he is still unable to ride to ride in Poland due to the use of a banned substance. This, however, is still under review as it was an IV drip given & authorised by his club doctor. As far as we are aware, under ACU rules, he can still ride in another country but under their Governing Body.

Note; IIR translates to irate inmate replacement

To be fair IS were clubs not going to stick with (and stand by) the riders they had (if they could) and each club was to honour the rider places once the pandemic restrictions were lifted so if Jake can now race in the UK surely Scunny must have the first options on his services... it would be hard on Josh Macdonald but it is a two way street... is it to much to expect a little bit of loyalty from riders surely considering every thing we have been through over the last 18 months or has he been made an offer elsewhere he cant refuse.... if he couldn't do Scunny in the UK he maybe shouldn't be allowed to start for anyone else... I appreciate circumstances change but as the season hasn't started yet there may be an argument... or maybe not... I'm sure there will be an opinion or two on the matter for sure...

I guess that depends if he'd signed for 2021 or not. Can't punish a guy for his 2020 contract

True... but was the idea not just to roll one year into the next with a little good intention... Scunny kept his spot for him and then he said he wasn't coming so fair enough but should he change his mind an now want to race over here should Scunny not have "first dibbs" on him so to speak...

That's if he is coming...

Was initially going to mention Employment status are these guys self employed ie do they pay there own tax Ni etc.

But that just opens a can of worms but is relevant on where he chooses to work.

Possibly but for me it's about loyalty and having a bit of a concience and not being mercenary... but I am a bit old fashioned in my views... I know there is a lot of Mickey taking on here but if it was one of our riders I wouldn't be happy if we found ourselves in the same situation... and when something similar happened at Worky a few year back I was bouncing but these thing do happen and who gives a monkey's what anyone else thinks these days...

However I don't think we know what the full situation is and doubt we will ever find out...

Some teams have managed to spark some interest and enthusiasm... and good luck to them.  My team, no such thing, same old same old... If Jake comes over and rides for someone else, that'd be the final straw for me. I've never felt so despondent going into a new season. Think my time as a supporter/volunteer is coming to an end.

Honestly

Treat this year as it is... bit of a non-entity... after what we have been through with this Covid carry on just enjoy that you; your club and the sport is still standing... I know several people who would be happy watching any team than where they are now...

You will still see some exciting and entertaining meetings at the EWR that's for sure...

Are you going to challenge RG to a match race on mopeds when the Diamonds are in town ? :D

Its daft ideas like two people old enough to know better racing around on mopeds that would add to the evenings entertainment, far far better than watching tractors going round and around

Lol -PMSL

But you have sparked a definite interest...

If you can find two mopeds reinforced and strong enough to lug two fat old farts like me and RG round the track then I'm in... might have more luck with two mobility scooters... they are greener...

But on a serious note not a bad idea... and I am deffo in...
