Yeah looking likely that we will have Ben Barker which I don’t really mind he did boost our away form last season. For the people that are now very confused Newcastle council have said that can’t host meetings until towards the end of June though they do still say they will run however I think it will be tough !

Not sure if the council has said they can't host meetings, a think it's more than likely that they've said that the expected crowd capacity is reduced further than was expected.

Rob Godfrey has had to use his high status figure head to finally find a rider to replace Jake Allen although, it has restrictions in place. The said rider is J Garrity which will not go down with some on here, but it is with the proviso that he travels from his "home", tagged & with a guard in a standard vehicle. All his operational gear will be maintained at the club & will travel from the EWR , when required.

His attendance is based on him being able to travel "home" before midnight. On the proviso where this is not possible, IIR can & may be used.

Another option which was looked in to was the possibility of signing Maksym Drabik, as he is still unable to ride to ride in Poland due to the use of a banned substance. This, however, is still under review as it was an IV drip given & authorised by his club doctor. As far as we are aware, under ACU rules, he can still ride in another country but under their Governing Body.

Note; IIR translates to irate inmate replacement

Newcastle are still planning to race their away fixtures, so don't know how you are expecting Ben to suddenly "jump ship" and sign for Scunthorpe (unless you know something I don't?).

The sad thing is that this is more sensible than some suggestions already put forward on 'normal' days

With no viable direct replacement for Allen, isn’t it time to admit that a double change is necessary? Sign someone like Mountain, Kennedy or MacDonald to replace Pijper (which arguably strengthens the team anyway) and then get BWD at number 1 for a full season whilst he’s still got time to plan to come over here!

The way things are panning out at Newcastle Ben Barker fits...

Regards

THJ

Maybe Ben like other Diamonds riders was given the option to join another club if they chose as Newcastle will not be able to make any payments for meetings and expenses until 1st July

Not alot of riders left to choose from, has Godfrey missed the boat with not signing mountain or does he have an aussie up his sleeve?

I think Scunthorpe held out making a signing in the hope of finding someone stronger than Mountain! If there's no one out there, can see them going with a 4.00 Aussie not as strong as Mountain!

whilst i am aware of who said rider is, i dont think the team will be that bad at home.. yeah we're gonna take some absolute thrashings away (just not at plymouth, the oap's will be begging for their retirement home by then) but we should be ok at home
