As for the Scorpions 2021... since Jakes announcement, reckon we need a major rebuild ... I think we need 3 new riders not just a replacement for Jake... I'd sooner us withdraw from the league than be just a number.
lewy
Surely it would be worth talking to jake and trying to get him to change his mind, seems alot more optimistic now with the progress of the vaccinations.

As its clear this season is more about us actually seeing league racing re-open again and "getting through". Robs already nailed his colours to the mast of the 2020 septet minus Jake so I dont see him changing. A lot of emphisis is on Jordan Palins progress and seeing him develop. I really dont think winning the league is our goal this season. Its just having our speedway back. With the team as it stands home matches will be tight run affairs. While away matches will be struggles. We do need another capable rider to make up the team. But as much as we would all like to see a bone fide No1 to come in and cover Jakes absence. I think we should be realistic now and accept thats if the Management are happy to allow the final make up of the team to meander into May we're picking up the left overs. Probably harsh but just the reality of that policy.
Albert
I know making several changes isn't likely to happen, difficult task given the limited rider availability! If the season gets underway, which is far from a given..it shouldn't be a case of just having speedway back. We need to reinvigorate interest, if we put a team out simply to make numbers up, that's my interest gone and probably forever.

Somehow the powers that be have managed to make a "fixed geographical draw" look like its been pulled out of the hat. There are very few perks except maybe the south coast teams fans and of course the promotions who avoid the cost of two early rounds of a competition with potentially limited attendances. What is daft is the cloak and dagger pretence that its all done with the best interests for all. Next up Scunthorpe and Leicester will be starting all meetings with a 10 point head start! Everyone knows the sport is corrupt but please don't insult the paying public with terrible reasoning and obvious mis-truths. An honest and more open approach even if it has a lesser upbeat tone would be a breath of fresh air from the current manure press releases.

Im sure the list was carefully studied and decided that everyone is going to smash Scunny over two legs but as the draw stands they have progressed further than 4 teams and ensured the Lions are into the final 4. Everyone knows I've never been Robs biggest fan but Speedway was destroyed in this country long before Rob took over. The person who is the head of the table is always trying to do things to benefit their own team that's why the sport needs someone at the top who has no input at any club

Scunny minus Jake Allens scoring at Leicester is 20pt defeat at least. While Leicesters EWR specialists Dougie; Morris, Howarth, Procter & Bates might not be far off repeating the dose at Scunny !. There are lots of unknowns about the 2021 season not least if it will start ?. But one real unknown is how riders will return after a year off ?. I reckon the Aussies will steal a march here because they have had the most of limited world wide track time. So we are likely to be starting a bit off the back grid when and if this all gets underway ?

thebaron
Fixtures out !, we kick off at Berwick Sat 1st May and then its Leicester for the EWR opener in Fri 7th May. Just looking at all the fixtures is making me dizzy ! Right now it looks unreal after all this time; and still not 100% convinced its going to happen as planned. But it is something to look forward to If we can travel Berwick here we come !
