ScunnyDan
Now our seasons done and dusted, lets look towards 2020, which looks set to be a big year for the club.. Jake Allen - been very consistent over the season, very rarely had a bad meeting and can ride most tracks, has to be a consideration for next year Danny Ayres - signing of the season without a doubt, HAS to be the second name on the team sheet Ben Barker - a mid season addition to the team and has helped us massively more so away from home, would welcome him back if he fancies it Stefan Nielsen - been a season to forget for Stef, although finished on a high note, unfortunatley cant see Stef back in Scunny colours Josh Auty - brilliant at home, woeful away im afraid to say.. Would say pretty much nailed on with his testimonial at Scunny in March Simon Lambert - Super Si has been brilliant since signing for us and has to be in contention for the reserve position alongside JP in 2020 Ryan Kinsley - progressed nicely this year, sadly can't see Ryan back with having Jordan in, but do hope he manages to secure a Championship place in 2020. Do have a feeling Jason Garrity will be back in Scunthorpe colours in 2020... Personally I feel we need some 'new faces' in the Scorpions team next season if we are to challenge for honours... If the average limit is 42.5 which Rob has stated most CL promoters are pushing for I'd go for something like this R Lawson, Ayres, Garrity, Allen/Worrall/Barker, Auty, Lambert, Palin It's a long winter ahead folks, whats your views
Paul Johnson
Worrall,Ayres,Allen,Auty,Barker,Si and Palin Just read Plymouth maybe in the Cl next year so wonder if Ben may fancy going back there? so Garrity or Barker Edited September 25, 2019 by Paul Johnson
scunny1
When Worrall gates he is ok ,if he doesn't then he's not interested-It's a no from me. Charles Wright or Kyle Howarth would be good- more racers than gating tarts please.
phillwhitewasmad
would like to see Jake Jordan and Danny Ayers in the team , not bothered about josh but he is nailed on anyway. Lambert would be good but only at reserve .

Fozzie4388
I know I'll get accused of bias but Simon and Stefan will be on very similar averages to start next season at reserve with Palin. I honestly believe Stefan would be better value for the average. Both would do superb at reserve don't get me wrong but as we all know Stefan has the ability to get a 7 point average as he has done and hold his own if he happened to move into the top 5, I'm not sure Simon does as proved numerous times in the past. I'd like to see depending on the average limit Douglas Ayres Allen Barker Auty Palin Nielsen
lucifer sam
THE 2019 season at the Eddie Wright Raceway isn’t over after all! The National League Riders’ Championship, washed out at Leicester over the weekend, will now take place at Scunthorpe on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6th at 6pm. Further news will appear in due course, but in the meantime, put this date in your diary!

Hope for Scunny's sake they don't go back down the Garrity route he's entertaining but far too unreliable
Fozzie4388
Lambert 5.16 Nielsen 4.51 the finishing averages Nielsen certainly better value imo and also would give you an extra 0.65 to use In top

Stef had a poor season this year but on that average and down at reserve he’d be a steal round the EWR! Plus Lambert won’t go higher than a 5pt average and he could even have to start at number 2.
bloom89
Scunthorpe tend to keep the majority of the same team season in season out, so you'd imagine Palin, Auty and probably Nielsen will be shoe ins.
scunny1
Auty's testimonial next March so nailed on. Palin committed to signing for Scorpions at start of the year, but not old enough yet to ride.
TheMessiahOfTheBSF
Josh Auty will probably be the first name on the Scorpions team sheet for 2020.

thebaron
Scorpions 2020 ? here's my take on it Auty will unquestionably be the first name on sheet but not for me !. I just cannot see Josh making any further progress with his racing at Scunthorpe. Just look at Ryan Douglas as a classic example; he has developed into a bone fide Premier League rider scoring an 18point maximum recently !. I would contend he would not have achieved all he has this season; grown as a rider without leaving Scunny . As harsh as that sounds ?; and for me Auty needs to do the same to get away from being a one track rider. It is controversial; probably will not go down well but it has to be in his best interests. Regretfully I reckon Jake could be looking elsewhere in 2020. My own opinion is that the two leagues should merge at least in the short term and if so then I would think he will favour a full time switch to Ipswich ? Garrity again; not for me can be thrilling to watch but equally frustrating caught up sometimes in racing situations with lesser riders at the back when he should be dominating heats. Too inconsistent. Steffan Nielsen; probably again needs a change of surroundings; really out of luck injury wise and although as has been said his current average might be attractive it may be best for us all to move on ? Ryan Kinsley has done a great job sticking to his task and coming up with a competent first full year of Championship racing. Really competitive and improving all the time. But I cannot see us bringing in Jordan Palin and keeping Ryan. We will surely need an experienced rider at reserve with JP to support him in the first stages at least ? First name for me would be Danny Ayres without any question the Rider of the Year in the Championship. We appear committed to Palin so that's two. I would definitely have a focused Ben Barker back who has the experience and ability to score well home and away. Something we have always missed. So too Simon Lambert who proved a superb bit of late season business and could be the one to back up Jordan Palin in the reserve berth. I would 1000% ! have Ryan Douglas back but alas he has gone beyond us in the two league structure. In a combined league is may be a possibility ?; but in the present structure I would see it as a potential step backwards to return after such a brilliant season with Leicester. So I think we have to accept it and wish Ryan well as he climbs the ladder. So as it stands for me; we need three riders in the current league set up. But some serious discussions need to take place before rubber stamping a another season like this one ?. Way too many gaps in the fixture list; way too many riders moving around the tracks; no team identity; little variation in the fixture card. Need I go on. i am not going to go into reams about how British Speedway needs fixing - it does ! I have two words for British Speedways power brokers at the next Annual "knees down" - BE BRAVE !.
