I'm thinking of starting an alternative speedway forum, where swearing and telling people what ya really think of them will be allowed.

This forum is full of xxxxx and they need to be told they are xxxxx.

Why is it when a track isn't as smooth as a billiard table some people automatically assume it's dangerous?

I didn't see any riders 'picking up' or 'taking off' or hitting any ruts and being thrown off line.

Alright it was a bit bumpy. Maybe todays' riders should ride more grasstrack, they had no trouble with a few bumps in the old days!

the racing was poor last night .and the racing was boring for the second meeting in a row but nobody got injured riding it .a couple of weeks ago a grand prix track more bumpy than the one we got at Wimborne road .there seemingly no money available to actually rectify the situation . will it be sorted over the winter months who knows

Okay, I've opened a group on Facebook called Proper Speedway, there will be a few rules, but not many. Anyone wishing to join will obviously be doing so under their real name, so no hiding behind an alias.

So we have a track as smooth as a bowling green, were riders just gate and go, or we have a track with a few bumps, and riders making mistakes, so probably getting some overtaking, which would you prefer. As someone said earlier the track for the German GP was by far much worse than Poole last night, but we didn't hear everyone ranting on about that, must be just a Poole thing.

Or people did criticise the German gp track but it’s not the Poole track so it hasn’t got a swarm of angry Poole fans who will vehemently defend anything to do with Poole irrespective of the rationality of said criticism or heaps of evidence just because

Implicit in your thesis is the assumption that a smooth track cannot have overtaking. This is obviously wrong, so the rest of your argument is invalidated.

Riders don't like unpredictable tracks..

They race much closer together on tracks when they feel it's conducive to do so..

Overtaking through mistakes isn't really too exciting to watch as invariably it means most races over the whole meeting will be strung out as riders reduce their chances of injury. Particularly injury caused by mistakes from anyone in front who then collect them..

Poole's (or anywheres) bumps and hollows won't encourage riders to take the risks that sometimes are needed to deliver great entertainment..

Speedway is heading down the F1 road, the only time there is an overtake is if someone makes a mistake
