At this stage that's as good a guess on the 2020 outcome as I can see. Whilst I can't guarantee you have all the right teams in the right divisions I don't think your far off. If a club can't afford a league but still wants to run then they will consider dropping down a standard. You seem to forget Eastbourne have already done it and Somerset. Better NL standard than no speedway at all.
GiveusaB
A decent meeting spoilt by some top-hat in the control box (Dave Watters Referee) playing god with the start button??? I lost count of the re-runs due to his appetite/desire to be star of the show....'so frustrating, especially on a blustery/rain soaked evening'! These incompetent officials need addressing! I thought it was a fair result, although I'm disappointed that we didn't win it! Imo.....Tero and Tobias got us the draw, coupled with some great team riding from Ellis and Paco lost us the win! (I can only think that Paco is trying to keep his average down for next season?) Tom Perry worked extremely hard for all his points......Agertoft may be another 'average manipulator' ? he was woeful! One other point of interest, which may have cost us a last heat 4-2 ? Why on earth did Ellis/Tero choose gates 1-3 in the final heat ??? Previously....10 of the 14 heat wins/advantages had come from gates 2-4??? also, knowing that gate 4, outside track specialist and unbeaten, Barker was in the heat ??? I honestly for the life of me cant work that one out??? Tero was sensational in the last heat …..and it was arguably the best ride from a B'ham rider that I've witnessed this season !!! Better I hope now the weather not as hot as it's been Track seemed quite bumpy, while there one or two decent races before Heat 15, but it was mostly from the gate. Mind you, I'm spoilt by watching much of my speedway at Scunthorpe, where the racing is top-notch. Last night compared very well with meetings I've seen at Leicester, Sheffield, etc. Heat 15 was an absolute cracker, thought the Scunny boys had done the hard work on the opening lap, but Tero then found a terrific burst of speed down the inside and go through on second lap. Both sides can point to moments of bad luck, in the case of Scunny it was Jake Allen's e/f after gating in Heat 4, but a draw was a fair result. Ref did his best to ruin the meeting by holding the tapes for too long and multiple warnings were handed out for even the smallest movement. Poor show on a drizzly and cold night. Totally agree regarding the starts. The tapes were held for an eternity in most races.
*JJ
Agreed - the referee ruined the match, just as another incompetent did in the away matches at Berwick and Newcastle. Would you believe that all six Scunthorpe riders were on a warning? Plus some Brummies ... Having said that, it was a great match, despite the weather. Really good to see the emergence of Tobias Thomsen, who scored 10.
Tosh1218
Surely when it’s an unpleasant and cold evening it’s better to get the 15 races wrapped up quickly , but I think the referee thought he was getting paid by the minute and prolonged the meeting too long . Honest opinion not as good as racing that we have at the EW raceway and I draw was a fair result. As a Scunny fan I was very pleased with the Aarnio exclusion when it clearly was Ryan Kinsley . Stef very disappointing again his confidence is shot. Also amazing how Garrity was missing again , he’s a great rider but is unreliable and Steve scored what he would have biggest gripe was how poor was Agertoft for the Brummies

You don't have to agree, thats fine. But owners make the decisions not the fans. If the owners want to reduce their losses and still run , then they'll drop down . Ipswich, Eastbourne, Somerset, Plymouth , Birmingham, all have done it and Lakeside dropped two divisions. If they don't want any more losses, they'll close altogether. So the examples are there. Ipswich and Somerset never dropped to NDL though, yes championship but there is a massive gulf between championship and NDL.not so much prem to championship as a bid majority ride prem anyway.if a lot more teams had to drop to NDL then the sport would be on its arse(not that it isn,t already). I said these teams dropped a division , not necessarily to the NL, to save closing altogether, which is what we were discussing. Theres is a difference between Premiership and Championship. The Championship is much better.

Agree with most of this, was really surprised with the way the Ref held the tapes in the few races given that he normally cracks on with meetings, almost like he was trying to catch riders out. Strange. Saw Paco in the pits working hard to get his bike hooking up better, really don't think its an average thing, he's worked so hard this year to prove people wrong and I think he has been a success this year. Agertoft just struggled but Tobias seemed a different rider from earlier in the season, a point to prove and less pressure now may be the reason, but has given the promotion something to think about next year. The track coped well with the rainbursts but would benefit from a blading for next season. Good meeting and a fair result.
