Um, it is Sir JACKIE Stewart, not Jocky...

There have been many Scottish footballers and managers called Jock, most notably Jock Stein and Jock Wallace.  Don't forget World Sidecar Champion, the late Jock Taylor.

Steve

some quality names there Steve   . i sort of remember Jock Taylor from the sidecars .   Stein was a great manager and a true legend of Scottish football .missed the SIR off Jackie  Stewart . sorry about that .

Anyone that gets triggered by some old banter during the presentation probably needs to up their medication. They should try taking the abuse A&E staff have to put up with

In Cook's version of events - as published in last week's Star - he didn't hear anything of the presentation announcements as he had his helmet on and didn't realise the parade was still going on!!!!!!

i think everyone calls them jocks , even the locks call themselves jocks  . its been going on for thousands of year calling them jocks .  the likes of Jocky Wilson did not mind as did Jocky Stewart  F1 driver . its save people asking where they are from therefore saving an extra question  !  then there is Jock Mcdonald  (Shheefiel ) ) . bound to be loads more ..

Josh Mcdonald?

Agreed. Cook pushed the marshall away as I think most people would have done in his situation. The marshall exited the scene. at that point the incident was over or at least should have been. But a host of Eastbourne people - the dugards, track staff, security guards and riders - all confronted Cook and Vissing and the fracas ensued.

Exactly. Some people are so hung on the fact the Cook started it by pushing off from the presentations they seem to be excusing any other behaviour after that.

3 people got punished, rightly so. However Eastbourne got off lightly and there statement seems to indicate they carry no blame.  Such a blinkered statement,

Just out of interest ,does anyone know the rules regarding track time for riders before a meeting? Seems like Alfie Bowtell had 2 sessions with Martin Dugard prior to the meeting starting. How can they prepare the track when theres some rider on the track going through his bike set up  with the person who should be getting the track ready to race.Im not having a pop at Alfie but would the facility be there for all riders if they get to the track really early?!!!

I would imagine that as long as they aren't giving track time willy nilly to anyone AFTER  the referee has signed in, then there is no problem.

The track can't be sterile for x amount of hours before the meeting i'm sure otherwise the scb etc would have to be paying for the privilege for that.

I guess to answer your question, yeh anyone could turn up beforehand -  but as it's in the hands of the owners before the ref takes over, they wouldn't have to let them in.

Didn't the boy Edwards also have time on the track? Presumably doing lots of laps would create some wear and tear on the surface including ruts. If the ruts were covered in loose material the surface would look smooth but if you hit one the bike could take of. Perhaps that's why the Glasgow riders were kicking the track and that's why it looked like they were creating holes when they were actually uncovering them.
