Think Connor Bailey has a good future in the sport ,improving quickly.

He impressed at Eastbourne on Saturday. When all around was chaos he kept his head down and got on with the job, tigering away for paid six.

Bailey is a slow burner and one for  the future but it sums up the rules of the sport when a Championship reserve can be a reserve in the National League whilst his Championship reserve partner is No.1.

To be fair he is only16 and is his 1st season over here ,all the other youngsters have the same opportunity when they start inNational League at reserve ( Kemp, Brennan ect,)like I said he is talented.Bickley and Flint both started at reserve in NL.

Bickley has only just started his turn at no1after Flint started the year then Palin, after his brilliant start to the season, moved there. I think it was nearly always going to be Flint or Bickley at no 1. Bailey just starting out a few months back & will soon be in the main body.

None of those lads were a reserve in the championship at the time ( too young ).

Try to explain that situation to a new speedway fan, " he's good enough to ride in the league above but only good enough to be classed as a reserve in the Academy league ?"

Simply not right.

if a rider is in a championship side then surely he should be restricted to the top 5 in the NL?

and while I'm having a rant, no rider should be riding in all 3 divisions, simply idiotic  and impossible to explain.

The NL is a good product but it needs to look at these things and not go the way of the other two divisions, with guests, R/R etc .

items for El Supremo Mr. Pipe to sort out in the winter?

Start at the bottom, irrespective of age.

NO rider should ride in all 3 divisions as it seems a big step up for 2 divisions never mind 3. If they are good enough for the top division then they are too good for the bottom division.

The only reason was they were too young,Bailey is 16 when he came here,so he could ride in CL.,if anybody gave him a place.Glasgow took that chance.

Is Perks the only one doing three leagues?

I think you're right. Ellis is the only three league rider currently. Which, for what it's worth, I don't agree with. Anyone who gets a Premiership spot, should automatically be excluded from riding in the National Development League (by definition).

But is that fair midseason on the team he’s forced out of? Using Perks as the example, it’s not Leicester Cubs’ fault that he’s picked up a top flight spot and all the number 1s are signed by now.

I think it was 2014 when ben Wilson returned to the sport riding for Stoke I recall, and thier season was ruined when they had to let him go when Sheffield signed wilson in the then Premier league.

On a similar note, I feel with the doubling up and indeed in Perks case tripling up. That a rule that should be brought in immediately is which ever club signs a rider first SHOULD HAVE PRIORITY for his availability.
