Looking at updates seems eagles have doctored the track and Glasgow not happy. According to John Cook the track s OK and bowtell and Edwards have been practicing all day and they think it's fine. Thats OK then, they after all are experienced riders especially Alfie who's proved to be a safe sensible rider.

I have no affiliation to either team. But surely to allow your riders to practice allday on the day of the meeting will

(1) affect the track and could be almost construed as gaining an unfair advantage.

(2) be deemed using football terminology, as ungentlemanly conduct by the home team

“The track is fine”, but there’s been 5 falls so far including Kennett :t:

Have the weej not practised on their track on the day of a meeting before?

Assume the updates must be biased towards the home team cos they read as if the weej are feeling the pressure from yet another trophy not going in the cabinet!

Looks like we were second best tonight not that surprised to be honest , big well done to the Eagles and best wishes in the final.

No excuses we were well and truly beaten fair and square , but not to down hearted still all to play for in the league were we have been awesome so far , need to get Starkie back asap though.

Only the third occasion this season we havent hit 40 points on the road. Sounds like we were beaten before we took the bikes out of the vans, or at least one rider was. He has form for this and over recent weeks the disastrous SoN, a couple of uncharacteristic falls and not winning the British Final have IMO seen his mood go down and we are seeing the legacy of that, very unfortunately.

The culture within GLA now is the best racing possible on a smooth track, and the best spectator experience. This is the exception and by all accounts tonight Eastbourne set their track up for home advantage. That is still for us to be professional, rise above it, adapt to the conditions, get stuck in and show we can ride any track. Despite being unhappy with the track before the meeting it seems at no point did we request a track inspection. If it was that bad we would have.

This tie was lost in the home meeting a few weeks ago. Tonight it seems we have dented our own hard won reputation. More repercussions are likely to follow.

Cook was a disgrace to his club and should have been kicked out of the meeting. The ref wasn't the best and Vissing even was stupid breaking the tapes for no reason after his bike went before race starting and not making 2minutes. In short Glasgow riders digraced the club tonight! Only good thing from Glasgow was the owner apologising for what happened.

Cook was totally out of order but situation was then inflamed by home promotion and announcer over the mike....rarely have I been at a meeting with such ill-feeling..

from what I saw perhaps the ref should have thrown cook out of the meeting...

and from what I heard the Eastbourne presenter should be censored for provoking the situation when a wiser head was called for.

If the reported events are true, and Glasgow management representatives were there to witness them and apologise for them, I wouldn't be surprised if certain riders were immediately released for bringing the club's reputation into disrepute, even if this jeopardises their league title aspirations. Some of the events sound much more serious than setting off a hotel smoke alarm and subsequently arguing with the hotel manager. What a shame that, despite all the time, effort and money poured into the club by the Facenna family, some riders wearing the club colours act this way.
