Others could do more to entertain as well.

Definitely, but its more than that - its about engagement with fans. For far too long, fans have been taken for granted and served up crap tracks, crumbling stadiums, revolting food, filthy toilets and surly, aggressive - even abusive - PR. Its a major reason why the sport is struggling.

In Berwick's programme on Saturday night, Jamie Courtney had a pop at those who no longer go but slag the track and team off from their PC's. I can understand his frustration, but does he really think that is likely to get them back ?

Fans expectations will often be too high for reasonable achievement. But if you don't engage, how do you know what your paying customers want ?

Birmingham named their side using R/R for Ellis and Etheridge as a Guest for Ash Morris but as Etheridge's average is higher than Morris' this was not allowed, forcing a quick rethink of the Birmingham team.

From Green Sheets issued 17/7

Morris 5.46         Etheridge 5.65      Ostergaard 5.66

How was this allowed?

They switched from R/R for Ellis to using Ty Proctor as a Guest, Ostergaard came in as a Guest for Aarnio (6.72??) and they switched to R/R to replace Morris.

I THINK lol.

Berwick's press releases and their Dirt Extra Site often have a “sly dig” or innuendo at fans comments on Social Media. It does them more harm than good. IMO
