GET WELL SOON |

Shane Parker, a great servant to several British clubs throughout his career, has suffered a cardiac arrest back home in Australia.

Everyone at the British Speedway Promoters’ Association sends ‘Parks’ and his family our very best wishes for a swift recovery.

I'm sure I read this morning, that his daughter kept him alive giving mouth to mouth until medical help arrived, but for some unknown reason I can't find the link now.

Get well soon Shane.

Thats a bit of a shock!! Best wishes to Shane for a full and speedy recovery

The sort of character the sports needs more of in every generation of riders (and a none too shabby performer also)

Get well soon Shane. Always one of my favourite riders, and a legend at Kings Lynn. Brilliant work by his daughter, who seems to have saved his life, well done young lady.

Hopefully Shane will make a full recovery, so best wishes from all Kings Lynn fans.

Great memories of Shane as a Knight / Star in 1997-98, 2000 & 2003, in particular that first season when he had some very quick bikes and beat most riders round Lynn. Very best wishes to him for a full and speedy recovery.

Lots of fans have great memories of Shane, and he was undoubtedly the star of the show for Middlesbrough Bears in 1995 and 1996.

Dependable, loyal, immaculately turned out and a great showman, Shane put over a 1.5 points on his previous highest average, for Ipswich, and it was on Teesside that he established himself a genuine number 1 in the sport. And what made this even more remarkable was that those two seasons were in the ‘one big league’.

Anyone who knows Shane will tell you that he was hard as nails, so this health scare should be just a minor blip.

Best wishes to you, my old friend!!

Naked hot laps, stealing the grading tractor, walking the length of the infield on his hands, handcuffing people to the flagpoles in their pants on their birthdays the list of escapades goes on! Parker was a true character and legend of our sport, get well soon!
