Terrace Grumbler
I don't know, why were they? (Only joking...) Face it, Berwick is usually Baltic. Good atmos at Shielfield generally tho, which is why we attend fairly regularly.

Shadders
There may be a slight increase in regular attendance, but not enough to make it sustainable at £10 a pop. Need to make the racing more entertaining, because in truth it’s been pretty dull overall in recent years.
MD
For every 10 adult customers who paid in last week they'll need 17 to pay in this week to achieve the same revenue. Is it even achievable? Definitely a brave move but perhaps £14 or £15 would be a more realistic figure.

Track shop sales will go up, and of course there is the intended bonus of lapsed and/or new customers liking their night out and coming back for more on future Saturdays. While going down to £10 this week is a breathtakingly bold leap by the young promoters, it really has to be applauded and supported by everyone who really wants to see speedway continuing in Berwick. The fans that are left are the die hards, who would probably pay £20, might moan a bit, but would still probably pay it. If the crowd is about 500, they would need 350 more to stand still, the whole exercise doesn't seem to make business sense. There must be a way of leaving the entrance cost the same, and getting some discount vouchers out to people who no longer attend.

If Berwick can prove that Speedway in this country is sustainable as a £10 sport (which it is in its current guise) then hopefully many others will follow suit. I get the bit about people spending extra at the shop/bar but will they each spend another £7 to match the normal entry price. I wish Berwick the best of luck and hope they get some retention from it at future meetings.

I understand diluting the standard again with the ridiculously low points limit but speedway at CL level at most clubs hasnt been a £10 sport this decade. Its currently £10 to watch BV Colts in the league below.

The complaint of diluting the product come thick and fast but is anything higher up worth the money? The superstars are keeping away for a multitude of reasons but even if teams were formed of GP riders added into the current top flight sides would numbers come flocking back and be prepared to pay £20+ a meeting?
