Wroclaw GP - cheap flight info

Recommended Posts

Anyone contemplating going to Wroclaw from southern England and hasn't booked a flight yet, then check out Wizzair who have flights from London Luton to Katowice (a couple of hours by train to Wroclaw).

Outbound flights are currently priced at £13.99 and return at £32.99 - with tax that works out at £64.30 return - bargain !!

Thanks for that Rico, hey maybe I can make ot to 4 GP's after all!

Have you got any details/websites which show the train times etc? Also what is Wroclaw like for the GP, as I haven't heard much about it compared to other ones? Which hotels are nearby etc, any info appreciated.

Thanks :D

Wroclaw itself looks really nice - a very historic city. We're booked up in the Radisson SAS, but there are plenty of hotels in the town. This is my first time to Wroclaw, so can't really be much more help than that. I'm sure if you have a search on the net you'll read nothing but positive things about the place. Certainly the guide books are quite complimentary.

The track, every time I've seen it, seems to produce some good racing, so game on.

Massive thanks Rico, hope to see you there maybe :)

Hey GG4Eva. No probs at all. We tried to get you over there last year but clearly failed.

Your damn right if you're there then we'll catch up.

We'll have a Premiership trophy to celebrate after all. Assuming you get yourself sorted out shout me up off list and we'll catch up with you and your bloke whose arm must be twisted all kinds of ways :D

Yes you remember well Rico ;) I tried everything to go to some GP's abroad last year but failed! I have Copenhagen and Gotheburg and Cardiff booked, so I can't wait! I have given up on my boyfriend going abroad for speedway so turned to my family and friends!

I will go to Wroclaw even if i go alone! I am very determined :D

Oh yes, we have a trophy coming our way, lets hope we do it at Tottenham! I was at the Arsenal v Leeds game last week for the 5-0 victory :)

Where are u going to sit at the stadium Rico? :)

Me and my friends got tickets for seats in sectors 2-9 :D It's gonna be hot there B)

stadion_1.gif

Those seats r well located but u gotta be quite early to find some place in the highest rows. We r leaving Bydgoszcz at about 3 am to get to Wroclaw at about 8 am. Then queuing in front of gates till 2 pm and then next 5 hours of waiting at the stadium  GP in a Polish style lol... We plan to be back in Bydgoszcz next day in the morning.

PS

If anyone wants to book tickets for Wroclaw GP here you've got a site where you can do it. Before 1st May it's 20% cheaper ;)

Looks like we're in with the prawn sandwich brigade in gates 21 and 22 - we've gone for the Sector A tickets :o

I admire your dedication to the cause Mateusz but the thought of having to queue for so long puts me off getting an unallocated seat, expecially as it's our first visit to Wroclaw. I really hope the place is packed to the rafters though.

Bydgoszcz in September I reckon we'll be going out on the terracing.

I see the Wild Cards are going to be decided soon - I am hoping for Kolodziej and Jagus.

Yeah, I agree that it's a bit hardcore to wait all in all about 11 hours but it's gonna be funny I think ;) A few LECHs & some nice girls and we'll survive :D

Find at the stadium a banner "Polonia Bydgoszcz Net F@ns" - that's out fan club :D

And by the way: Gollob jest zajebisty

Mateusz,

Clearly you are growing up faster than I can imagine. Lech and ladies, tut tut :D

We'll hopefully catch up with you at some point during the day - I'm still on the same mobile number - let me know if yours has changed. Hopefully it'll be a scorching day and we can enjoy some outdoor piwo drinking and pani watching B)

I was given the 'correct' spelling of my signature by a Polish chum in Reading - some friend  Thank you for correcting the error

Just wanted to know if there's going to be league speedway on the same stadion on sunday following the GP. If not where's it going to be staged? See fixtures on Mateusz web site http://www.speedway-poland.tapesup.co.uk/l...e-fixtures.html

Change of plans for me. My wife and I are staying in Poland for another week, taking in the Tarnow-Wroclaw meeting and staying in Zakopane for a few days.

We've got G.P seats in sector 22-23, and are the ones with the Pirates flag. Call by for a prawn sandwich.

Travel details to Prague (in my jacket pocket) must have messed my head, since I was convinced Wroclaw was on the 15th. Guess I'll have to do some sightseeing afterall...

We dont have tickets yet, we do have a hotelroom in Wroclaw and train tickets from Berlin.

Great choice! It's gonna be a superb match between two the best Polish teams. And Zakopane is a beautiful mountain town. I've been there many times. Fantastic place :D

Have a nice time in Poland! :)

Rico wrote = Bydgoszcz in September I reckon we'll be going out on the terracing.

'Ey up Rico - hows it going ?

2nd bend in the Polonia kop ? Is Tomek Elwood going ?

It will certainly be out in that direction, whether one of my colleagues would be up for the rowdies B) I'm not sure - some reassurance will hopefully sort that issue out.

Elwood is hoping to attend, he certainly hasn't booked anything as yet. New job has seen his GP attendance record plummet but I'd imagine he'll be making special arrangements to attend the big 'un.

Will we be graced with the company of Papa B etc etc this year ? I'm sure one of the etc's will encourage Tomek to go (given Tom's comments last year) :D I'd have my camera ready for the moment they met again

Let me know what GPs you are going to so I know when to look out for you.

Rico

  • 3 weeks later...

Yesterday I bought the train tickets to Wroclaw (from Berlin). Incase anyone is interested in some combined flying (Easyjet is flying from London Luton to Berlin Schönefeld) and train travelling, details (for two) as follows:

On friday 28.5.

09.38 IC241 Berlin Zoologischer Garten, arrives at

15.42 Wroclaw Glowny, so traveltime is 6.04hrs

On monday 31.5

12.41 IC240 Wroclaw Glowny, arrives at

19.02 Berlin Zoologischer Garten, traveltime 6.21

Price was 71,50 € (Sparpreis Europa, this train at this time, no refund) + reservation fee 6€ per ticket, so it came to 83,50€. Regular fare was 118€, allowing last minute changes(yes) and refund(?). There are, naturally, other trains to Wroclaw also, but we are taking this one. You cand find more info at www.db.de. The station Wroclaw Glowny is about 2 miles from the stadium.

And also there has been A LOT of talk about taking the airfence of the straights starting at Wroclaw in the Swedish press. I might be wrong, but I believe I even saw it stated as a fact. Then again, I havent been feeling all that well after Prague...
