Fred5
Weather looks good, think we will head off down to the OTA, hopefully for a good meeting.
Ghosty
Who plans the fixtures? we have only had a few meeting so far & yet get Eastbourne for the second time. One thing we can be sure of the Oaktree ALWAYS produces good racing. Crowds are down this year - what are the the reasons?

Crowds are down this year - what are the the reasons? your crowds being down may be due to dropping down? our (Birmingham) crowds are down but we've gone up? Other tracks I've visited this season-: Leicester crowds are up, very big crowd when I went there; and like you they have dropped down! Eastbourne big crowd on first visit, massive crowd on second visit and like us they went up! Can't figure any of that out, who'd be a speedway promoter? Eastbourne's crowd was well down last saturday. Attendances are usualy good at the start of the season, maintaining those levels is the hard part. Brum has a team that is struggling on track and that struggles to generate a crowd, Somerset might be the opposite with too much home dominance? Leicester are clearly benefiting from running on a race night that suits their fan base better along with a finally improved track.

Glorious day in Highbridge today, and a perfect night for speedway!

TurnTwo
But what can they do? Remove Morley gives 4.8 wood I can’t see anyone worth anything on a 2.
james1234
Bomber was outstanding tonight, Probably Rowes best performance at home and i was impressed with Todd Kurtz. Obviously the loss of Brennan is hard, Morley & Wood are scoring around their averages and very limited options for replacements. The Eagles were never likely to get anything at Somerset this year so need to just focus on performing at home rather than silly track prep that catches the home team out more than the away side.
ruckerroo
They just built the side awfully really. Kennett and morley at 15.2 or a solid 8pt and 7 pt rider would have been a significantly better balance. They ballsed it right up tbh and poor toms injury compounded matters. Lets hope alfie bowtell can , now riding in the correct position score some much needed points

I think this year will be a learning curve for both fans and promotion as the demanded levels of success will not come as frequently this year. gazzac
Unless there's something in the pipeline already, I think with 2 home matches and the KO Cup at Birmingham to come in the next 10 days, probably Wood Morley and Bowtell are all on last chances. Hopefully Bowtell can kick in at reserve where he should have started the season, and Wood can regain last years NL form, especially at home. If they don't not sure what changes they can make. A Spiller or 2 maybe?
Bagpuss
Morley has been the weak link really, he’s been knocking around for several years now and should be doing better especially on a small home track.

In fairness Morley's average was up a little due to his knowledge of Lakeside last year but in the majority of meetings this year he has been getting 4-5, couple of duffers at Glasgow & Leicester but won't be the only rider to do that. Whilst progress hasn't been rapid it was unrealistic to expect him to end up on a 6+ point ave by now. 57 minutes ago, gazzac said: Unless there's something in the pipeline already, I think with 2 home matches and the KO Cup at Birmingham to come in the next 10 days, probably Wood Morley and Bowtell are all on last chances. A Spiller or 2 maybe? What better 2 point riders are about to replace Wood & Bowtell? If either is released they will be snapped up elsewhere. Not sure that Dan Spiller could come in on less than a 4.00 average and Ethan was not high enough in standard last time he was over.
