Inexperience riders fail to understand the long straight and tight bends. An accomplished rider will make the gate and ride the line. Only when he makes a mistake, will his advantage be challenged. I have watched many races from Wolves and when someone comes from the back its usually because the rider in front has drifted out too far or made a mistake.. When I said that Wolves track favours the gater, it means once you are in front the ball is in your court... I have seen home specialists like Woffy and Freddie struggle when behind, thus illustrating the difficulty when missing the gate this was well illustrated by TJs heat win. Having finally made the gate, he rode the inside line and was'nt challenged.

Monmore favours the technical rider who often will be able to pass on those favoured lines. Your not one of these speedway protectionists are you that defends the product religiously but doesn't go very often.

Ward and Olsen were probably the best riders coming from the back on any track. Both exceptionally talented.. Pity the crowds didn't appreciate them more when they rode here... The truth being I never mentioned anything about his equipment . the only word I used was 'application'., and you don't need to be a magician to understand that. Monmore has always favoured the gater, and I sure all the riders, including Lambert, knows that as well. To score reasonable points It is imperative to get out that gate. When a club has only one renown heat leader it is expected he will lead the way, so in that instance he let the club and the fans down... Rory on the other hand knew how important it was to gate well and subsequently scored 16 points... You're right it's not rocket science, its application.... 5 points is not good enough.... As per usual you are spouting tripe. Robert Lambert is having a tough time in all leagues at the moment and needs our support, not people like you accusing him of a lack of application. The lad is riding his backside off for little reward at the moment, it’s happened to every sportsman who ever lived at one time or another.

You're not one of those with selective memory who thinks every meeting was brilliant back in the day? You know back when the phrase "Whoever makes the start wins" originated. Wonder why that term ever got used.....

Read wide, I’ve criticised the sport and it’s organisation often. And having watched the sport live since I was a child I can confirm that even back in the golden years of the sport there were dull from the gate racing then too. It’s only those that live in the past that believe every race and match had stunning racing but of course that’s simply not true. if you want to know how often I attend take a look at the updates site over the years that will confirm your question. speedway in its purest form is as every bit as exciting now as it was back in ‘the day’. i also volunteer my services as a Marshall to my local track. I hope that answers your question.

You must have a book full of excuses ready for everyone who has a bad day. The truth being , he is not hitting them big numbers like last year, but you don't become a bad ride over night. Watching him at Belle Vue Saturday in the SON shows he' more than capable, and not having too bad a time. Is he.... Strange that...

No excuses here, just support for a rider who is giving his all but not getting the rewards. Rather than accusations of a lack of application or effort. It’s what proper supporters do. Better tonight for him, although no surprise on a track where you can remedy poor hating.
