I’m not sure then what Wolves are meant to do if a rider isn’t fit to start the season?

But I would imagine that this has expired now, as we have no meeting until the 13th it will be interesting to see what happens if Morris is still not fit. The 28 days makes sense because otherwise teams could have a “ghost rider” for pretty much as long as they want and that doesn’t seem fair. As you say, it will be interesting to see when he returns/what happens next

The rule seems clear but yes I agree it would seem odd if it was extended further but won’t be surprised if it is either. such is the unpredictability/reliability of the supposed applied rules. Correct.. Sadly another one of those "let's make it up as we go along" 'rules' that means the Sport (in the UK) can never be taken seriously, and will continue to spin along in ever decreasing circles... For me, having Scott Nicholls riding is 100% OK as he is replacing an injured rider (just like in 'proper sports' where they would replace someone injured), but, as always in Speedway (UK Speedway), there will always be an inconsistency of applying the 'rules/subjective opinion' which renders most situations ludicrous when finally implemented.. 'They' truly never, ever learn... Edited May 3, 2019 by mikebv
