Col
I don't think King, Pieszczek, Bellego are weak compared to other teams engine room. Top 2 - strongest Swindon, weakest Ipswich. Engine room - strongest Wolverhampton, weakest Kings Lynn. Reserves - strongest Ipswich, weakest Swindon.
INCOGNITO
HEAT LEADERS - If you count the top three as heat leaders or the top two it depends how a team is balanced. It was usual for teams to have a strong top two backed up by two very good 7-8 point men then a number two and a reserve around 5-6 that could swap and change with a filler at number six. Some went with three big hitters and the other places divided to grab third places and heat wins so having the best heat leaders isn't the be all and end all as Poole proved last season as they went into the play offs with no rider over 7 points a match but a solid team. As it is, Kings Lynn and Swindon have the two big names left here in Lambert and Doyle but that's where the similarities end as Stars look to have little to back up Lambert in big races while Swindon have a good top three with Batchelor and Musielak both capable of double figures in most meetings. Swindon therefore have the best heat leader trio. Wolverhampton have the best top four and all could score heavily in meetings leaving the other three to pick up vital third places but they need Howarth to return to form and Becker be a hit straight off or improve as the year goes on. Ipswich do appear weak but Piezscek is no mug and could be a suprise while King is useful if he is fit to return to his old form and Bellego also gets scoring. This could give them a strong middle order and reserves aren't too bad but obviously lack the big guns. Peterborough may not seem too good but they have a decent top three and then four back ups who can all score the points expected so I see them as either dominant or weak each time and only time will tell. As it stands, Swindon and Wolves look good even with a long tail and Belle Vue could be up there if Bjerre is back on form and Lidsey becomes a superstar while Poole are solid from 1-7 but like Peterborough they all need to score what's expected consistently. HEATLEADERS - Swindon & Wolves MIDDLE ORDER - Belle Vue, Swindon, Poole & Wolves RESERVES - Poole and Belle Vue
