This is an update posted on Facebook earlier today.

Thank you so much to all that have sent kind messages wishing Sam well. He is quite uncomfortable at the moment and has not regained consciousness as expected so he is having another brain scan today. We can only hope that there is nothing more than they already were aware of. Thank you again. Claire and Chris

Further update this morning on Sam via Facebook.

Just a quick update on Sam's condition. He's now off the ventilator but still unconscious and clearly has a long way to go. Thank you for all your messages and prays we might not reply but we read every one to Sam hoping that he can hear us and knows that you're all thinking of him. He's going to win this race. Claire and Chris.
For everyone who has asked yesterday's scan didn't show anything other than the original bleeds on the brain.

Todays update via Facebook

Unfortunately Sam didn't have a good night last night due to him having seizures. He is more settled today as he's been given drugs to lessen the effect. We have had a meeting with Sam's Neuro surgeon and we have been informed of the harsh reality that his recovery will be a long one. Keep those prays and good will coming to speed the process up for our little man. Thank you. Claire and Chris.

Sam had a better night after being given drugs to suppress the seizures. He has been quite restless today but we are told this normal and he has ride out the storm as the Neuro surgeon described it.
Sam had a pleasant surprise with a visit from Glasgow Tigers Craig Cook accompanied by Tigers Peter Facenna. Big thank you to them for making the effort to come and visit Sam and for the bag of goodies which I'm sure Sam will enjoy wearing. Claire and Chris.

Latest update on Sam.

Today has been a difficult day, mainly because we have moved to another room in a different part of the hospital where we are not familiar with surroundings. Sam has not had any change he is still having episodes of rapid movements followed by sleeping. Sam is having an mri scan Monday. We are finding it hard now being so far away from home. Keeping strong for Sam. Thank you to all your kind words of encouragement it helps us get through the day. Team Norris.

Update on Sam`s condition, hopefully Sam`s family will get the support they require at this time

Latest from Sam Norris

We are pleased to say after a very stressful and hectic day Sam is now in Addenbrookes. I flew with Sam with Scotstar who got us safely to Cambridge airport, Chris travelled by train. We would like to thank all the staff at Glasgow Royal children's hospital who cared for Sam and making it possible for him to be well enough to be transferred. They were absolutely outstanding and made us both feel a part of Sam's treatment, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you also to Ronald McDonald accommodation for giving us somewhere to stay and for our lovely chats.
Now we begin Sam's ride to recovery. Claire and Chris
Thank you also to Peter Facenna for providing accommodation for the days we didnt have other and Jim McGregor for his support.

Just a quick note to say that Sam is still in my thoughts even though we have not had any further news. Best wishes to Sam and his family.

been some more positive updates in past few weeks including inside cover page of this weeks Speedway Star - still a along way to go, but walking with help, sitting up, sight back OK, talking with prompts and recognises people he knows and seems aware of what's happened / happening (apology to family if i have any of that wrong).
