teaboy279
Spot on Arnie, the rule was brought in to give more credibility to the sport. And stop riders missing there least favorite tracks so they can get in a track specialist guest...
BobC
Plymouth management were very naive here. Should have got a sick note earlier in the week after the meeting at Kent. They said he came back there and clearly wasnt fit. Yes, it would have put Campos out for 7 days, but he could have been back in for the trip to Belle Vue on Thursday and at home to IOW of Friday. Definitely cost them a win last night. That was the difference

Widespread complaints by supporters throughout the league Last winter - NL changes the rules restricting guests for 'any reason' to under 18s. Supporters respond positively Last night - new rule applies, fans start whinging. This is a typical case of fans wanting fairer rules until they apply to their club. Exactly! It’s a much fairer and legitimate rule now and brings the league’s in-line with the professional leagues above.
Jonnybegood
In the leagues above , guests are allowed for all the heat leaders, National league guests for the number 1 only unless they are on championship duty.
pete cc
Negative negative. I applaud any club who can admit that their track is not fit for use. It doesn't show the club in a good light but an honest one.

Quote by the promotion from the Devils Gladiators forum: This weeks meeting is cancelled, the clay hasn’t turned up at the track as yet , 10am Wednesday, I and i cannot guarantee that the track will be ready. I do not like to disappoint fans by not having a meeting , I also do not like disappointing fans with copious amounts of dust. Last week we had the local councillors in attendance to monitor and noise test the Quads, and was probably dismayed at the dust as was I. I have not been able to sort mixed shale, the only quarry producing quality shale at the moment is in Scotland, therefore I am awaiting pure ball clay and will endeavour to mix it myself and hopefully sort the problem . >>>SORRY GUYS .......Read more: http://plymouthdevils.proboards.com/thread/9872/gladiators-cradley-31-2019-cancelled?page=1#ixzz5pL6dBrA8

This shale 'crisis' has been going on for a while and the BSPA seems to be asleep at the wheel. Plenty shale being removed from Derwent Park...not sure if can be re-used but someone could ask ?? Have to say I am no au fait about the geography of these places or the latest situation. Its the transport that makes shale expensive . Yes someone said they had followed a wagon-load to Northside..a journey of less than 1 mile....but not sure if it would ever get used there..probably just a convenient 'drop off' point. teaboy279
Leicestershire shale has been unavailable for over 2 years now according to the quarry company. (Braydon aggregates or similar it was called). There was a supplier down Gloucester way last season but I think it was from there the shale came, that got panned at multiple tracks last season for being substandard. To my knowledge the only place to buy bulk of shale is in Scotland and whilst the price is half the price of a tonne of top soil, as has been stated it's the delivery costs that are the killer. TurnTwo
I spoke to the Dugard’s at Eastbourne last year when they added the ‘red shale’ which made the track much grippier. I remember they ordered a lorry load or there abouts £400. But to get it delivered from Edinburgh was £1500! Paid off though as the meetings were far better in the end with better racing. Sings4Speedway
Would he fit without a double change as can't see Stoneman or Wilson making way. Campos & Extance out for Atkins + 3 pointer in?

Campos & Extance out for Atkins + 3 pointer in? STOKE travel to Devon to face the Plymouth Gladiators in their quarter-final first leg meeting at the Coliseum. The A.R. Richards Potters welcome back Tom Perry for the clash after he missed the defeat at Leicester while Arran Butcher comes in at reserve replacing Corban Pavitt who is taking school exams. The Gladiators have been doing some track work after last weeks meeting against Cradley was postponed and Potters team manager Adam Isherwood hopes the Potters can take advantage of this saying “With the track being worked on it is likely to be an away track for the home riders as well as us and hopefully we will be able to adapt better.” The home side have had to revert back to their original one to seven after new signing Henry Atkins got injured but they will be led into action by former Potter Ben Wilson who spearheads the side and he will be given solid support from Nathan Stoneman who doubles up with Birmingham in the Championship. Supporting the duo will be Scott Campos who was one of the riders being replaced and will be out to prove a point to the home promotion and Richard Andrews who has been riding well this season with another rider who was due to be replaced completing the top five in former Stoke rider Adam Extance. At reserve the Gladiators have Adam Sheppard and Jamie Bursill competing their side. Potters rider Connor Coles commented “We will be going there to win as we always do in any meeting hopefully we can come away with an advantage, but if they do go in front we will be looking to keep it as close as we can for the second leg at Loomer Road on Saturday night.” Seems Stoke know what is going on !!
