  • 3 weeks later...

I have just had an email from Speedway play with whom i took out a subscription last season to watch all the matches , that a new  subscription service has started for 2019(the clubs themselves ?) https://www.elitspeedway.com/play  unfortunately doesn`t appear to be much English - but i will subscribe again- all matches live for around £15.50 per month

New league website as well https://www.elitspeedway.com/

Edit there is English when you register and on the payment page.

About ESS Play

Welcome to ESS Play - The clubs digital venture 2019

Here you can see all 82 matches from Elitserien in Speedway, live or afterwards. The channel is also filled with ongoing reports, interviews, highlights and news.

All matches are produced in HD, with graphics and commenting.

  • A main match per round will be produced with several camera angles.
  • The other four games of the round are produced with one camera.

You can easily register here on the website, and then have full access to the channel via the app (Andriod or iPhone) for mobile and tablet.

A monthly subscription costs SEK 189 per month and can be canceled at any time. It is therefore no binding time. As an opening offer, you can now register for free up to May 6, all to follow the upload with video reporter and preamble meeting; monthly payments are not deducted until then.

You can also choose to buy a match pass for SEK 129 - then you will have access to the specific match live and afterwards.

You create a login with your email address and an optional password. The purchase and payment functions are best done via a web browser on a computer.

Do you have trouble implementing the payment? Then check that you have entered the correct card number and CVC code. If you have the opportunity, test with another debit card. Sometimes it may be that the card is locked for online and international purchases, which can be fixed via your bank.

Do you have any technical considerations? Feel free to check out frequently asked questions via the link here  , so you may find the answer:

Otherwise, we are always ready to assist you at  kontakt@staylive.se

We now know that just one of the matches(multi camera) will be shown per week by Premier/freesports and in Poland(probably Eleven sport). I suppose this could be a Tuesday or Thursday match. I have taken out the monthly subscription - 82 matches will do for me !!

I signed up for this before you posted this R&R and as you say ESS’ coverage is a brilliant offer at £15.50 a months for every meeting. I was too late last year and couldn’t do it because I thought their price per meeting its expensive. I’m really looking forward to be able to watch the entire season’s meetings, I never really felt connected to Swedish speedway with just one TV meeting, especially if that was rained off.

With all the Polish meetings and now this we will be spoilt indeed this year :D.

Freesports schedule showing a live match on 7th May 6.10pm (repeated Wednesday 8th)

Also looks like they showing a second match (not live) 9th May 10.15pm - that must be Dackarna v Smederna (repeated Friday 10th)

Just to clarify what i know(or think i know)

1 match per week is a multi camera production and that is the match which is sold to Premier/Freesports and Poland

the other 4 matches are single camera and are only available to the ESS subscribers.

At the moment i cannot find out which match is chosen for the MCP for week 1 - i am assuming it will probably be a Tuesday match but that is only me surmising that.

I have just heard from Sweden that  all the MCP matches will be on Thursday’s therefore all the TV matches will be Thursday’s.

1st match will be Dackarna v Smederna.

It`s an interesting decision by the Swedes because as i previously have said there are several fixture clashes on Thursday`s with GB fixtures- so although Sweden do have squads they won`t be fielding their strongest teams in some TV matches !!!

To my mind, economically it makes sense to have the TV match on a Thursday so all the Tuesday matches will not suffer crowd wise from people staying at home to watch it on TV.  It also vastly increases the potential viewing figures TV.  I wonder if the TV schedulers realise that the odd rider might be missing due to British commitments.  The team most likely to suffer if riding on a Thursday is Rospiggarna as they have Robert Lambert, Jason Doyle, Erik Riss & Max Fricke.  Other than Bjerre at Kumla I do wonder how often the other riders competing in both leagues will be selected by their Swedish team anyway.  Other riders being:

Krystian Pieszezk - Kumla
Nikolai Klindt, Rohan Tungate - Lejonen
Nick Morris, David Bellego - Masarna
Troy Batchelor - Vetlanda

Don`t forget it`s not on TV in Sweden- the only way they can watch is taking out the ESS subscription- which again i recommend.

It`s all very well having priority on Thursday`s but as i posted on the Swindon thread it`s going to need a carefully worked out Premiership fixture list not to pi$$ the riders off who ride Sweden and GB. It seems like the Swedish teams have 4/5 Thursday dates(see edit below). It is generally accepted that Swedish pay rates are around double the UK so riders will not be happy missing Swedish league matches !! Riders that could be effected are

Thorssell

Doyle

Lambert

Fricke

J Holder

Masters

Batchelor

Kurtz

Klindt

Tungate

Bjerre

Edit just checked the teams Thursday`s matches and they are all over the place !!!

2 Smederna and Vastervik

4 Masarna,Indianerna,Rospiggarna,

5 Piraterna and Lejonen Vetlanda and Dackarna

From a previous post- now amended to include a fixture change.

Hello

I want to take out an ESS play subscription... Will it contain all matches  and in English commentary?

Sorry didn`t see this until now- yes all matches are available but i think you can only chose one match to watch live on a Tuesday and the others after. The commentary`s are all in Swedish however i don`t find a problem. The picture quality on Tuesday was superb.
