Lakeside and the BSPA

I would suspect it's along the lines of the bond, that they are required to post with the BSPA before they run, not being sufficient to cover their outstanding debts (riders wages etc.). The BSPA will have paid the riders the outstanding wages, all be it at the standard league rate. I.e. Not the additional money agreed between Rye House and the individual riders.

Just a theory.

Good theory, and one I suppose should not just be applied to RH ......

None of the riders have been paid by either the bspa or BMR .Rye house/ BMR should not be able to use the stadium for anything speedway until all monies have been settled.

If there is a track available at Rye House, which it seems it is, and there is a promotion able to run speedway there and there seems there is, would you not think it would be in the interests of everyone to put one with the other and keep speedway going, irrespective of the arguments between the former Rye House promotion and the BSPA

Such a logical attitude you can forget being co-opted onto the BSPA

BMR ruffled far too many feathers for there to be a compromise.

Can you outline the "feathers"

Certainly wasn't impressed by the stadium promotion at Rye.  One prominent member of BMR told some Hammers fans to 'go home and not return' after they asked for the season ticket gate to be opened at the same time as the pay turnstiles!  This was shouted in front of quite a few supporters too.  Talk about bad customer service!  One former Rockets fan said he was always like that too.

One 'official' from an away track told me they were refusing to honour BSPA passes. Things like that don't go down well at the old Boys club.

And why shouldn't they.

The presenter from the radio interview with Cook last night said the BSPA wouldn’t allow Lakeside to run in the Premiership or Championship at Rye due to the poor facilities. They could have run national league though.

What is the facilities difference between running Championship & National League? Tracks should be licenced as safe or deemed unsafe, there can't be any middle ground. The attitude of don't worry about NL riders they only poodle round has been holding the sport back for years.

Aren't they referring to the facilities available rather than the track?  Probably a lot more people would attend PL or CL matches.

I am sure Rye House still owe riders & the BSPA money, ditto Lakeside. If everybody was paid up I've no doubt that Rye House would be welcome to participate in one of the leagues in 2019.

Also is it not the financial situation with Lakeside that is causing Jon Cook problems (2018 Lakeside co-promoter) with his intended "jumping ship" to Eastbourne? or may-be the BSPA don't want someone involved who is "to intelligent for speedway" quote!

Quite possibly although as ever nobody actually says what they mean. If the reason was we will grant a licence for a max crowd of 600 due to inadequate parking / viewing areas and CL is not sustainable at those numbers it would make sense. But not sure what actual facilities are actually required vs what are just nice to haves.

It's debatable that Rye House Stadium is fit to stage public events. Maybe the health and safety inspectors have made a visit. Negotiating the car park is treacherous enough, and that's before you enter the stadium.

I have no idea Iam just saying what the presenter said on the radio but Iam guessing it’s nothing to do with the safety of the riders.

I have no idea why they build the moto x track in the middle? Using the car park would have been challenging enough for even the most seasoned rider.
