He has been paid. He was offered a place in the cubs at the start of the season which he turned down because he was not offered enough to race. This was in last weeks programme. Just noticed it says, he makes his full debut at home to Berwick on Sunday, so presumably he must be riding for Stoke on Saturday, when Lions are at Berwick.
