Have to say that Josh Bates is beginning to cause me some concern. Yesterday at Ipswich he didn't look fully able to control the bike and there was a comment by Tatum (I think) about him not walking properly. Have his falls so far this season caused his back injury to re-emerge? He began the season in such fine style but its  looking as if things might not be so good now. If the injury is causing problems again, surely its a matter of time before he needs to go back to rehab? Let's hope that isn't the case and that his recent misadventures are a blip, and that more track time, with Peterborough, will be a help rather than a hindrance.

He didn’t look in ANY CONTROL at Edinburgh on Friday ,he will always be injury prone the way he rides, feel sorry for his opponents. An accident waiting to happen IMO.

If all riders were in CONTROL of their bikes, there wouldn't be many crashes.

Got a feeling that Josh may be sidelined again for some time. If so should a replacement rider be brought in.

I wouldn't be at all surprised. He needs to prioritise looking after his health for the longer term.

In the press release for last weekend's matches it said he wouldn't ride for Lions on Saturday ( against Edinburgh) because he was track reserve for the GP qualifier , but would return for the Lions  match at Sheffield, he in the end did neither, but that would suggest he can't be far off returning.

Josh as tweeted that he's ready to return after resting his injured hand & will be back on his bike this week( weather permitting).

If he has had a poorly hand why has he been in the dustbin? https://twitter.com/josh96bates?lang=en (see group of photos at left hand side of account) . I thought he had hurt his back.

From pictures of the crash it looked like he landed more on his upper back, so hopefully no damage to his previous back injury if that was the case.

Hand injury? Maybe he's had another fight with a cinder block wall somewhere. Never a dull moment....

The hand injury was the one that caused his withdrawal from the Eastbourne meeting, when the 2 Eastbourne riders crashed in front of him & he couldn't avoid them. I know the last crash was the one where he landed on his back at the start. But he did tweet that he was returning after resting his injured hand, so presumably that was the one giving him trouble & maybe he returned too early.

Weather not looking great for tomorrow’s early evening start, what’s the chances of starting the meeting a little later so miss the worst of weather forecasted..?

It depends which forecast you go with because BBC have it down & cloudy & 25% chance of rain which isn’t that high.

Blimey.

How good do we have to be for the fans to make this a trending post?

Good teams don't generally generate any interest only those who struggle. At the moment its a good Lions team but to help the cause. Is Jack Thomas sharp enough doing CL only and would Danyon Hume be a better option?

For about the 1 millionth time Danyon Hume’s averaged is over 1 point too high to replace Jack . Name me 1 rider whose average fits that is better then Jack , Jack is the best there is around on his average , We can’t a strong top 5 & then 2 high scoring reserves.

Seems like Jack Thomas has now resigned from the team :-( Thank you for all your efforts Jack.0

Wow. didn't see that one coming ;). Sad that Jack has chosen to take a break though but with no NL place and big fixture gaps its must have been hard for him. He has had a meteoric rise and i guess it becomes difficult when things start to level out. Genuinely not any improvement signings available unless a team like Eastbourne make changes?

Think they Can try and get Danyon reassessed

Do tell - this is going to have to be very good allowing h has a CL average riding for Ipswich last year.
