Harris guests , Bates still included & R/R for him. Doesn't mention the team for Saturday yet, but surely would be stronger to use the R/R facility for Worrall & guest for Bates, with the added 5%, anyone up to 7.35 , which could be someone like Howarth, Heeps or NBJ. ... and does it say Pavlova?

By the way, calling Victor pavlova isn't funny anymore (not sure it was in the first place) and is the sort of thing a lazy 'journalist' would do you can and it was done by newcastle a few years ago . just when you thought you knew it all . along came that rule ..

Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. Whereas Palovaara is a hill in Finland. Alright, I'll get my coat.

arnieg
The rules are clear. You can't have a facility for a rider who has not yet ridden. However you can have a special dispensation (as was the case in the examples of Newcastle and Nick Morris quoted above). But the circumstances that apply in those two cases do not apply here and can be easily and clearly distinguished. When signed the rider was fit and available to ride. In this instance Palovaara was not available to ride in Saturday's fixture at the time of signing

screm
Leicester`s move to replace Josh Bates collapses. LEICESTER’S move to sign Victor Palovaara has collapsed. But the club have also revealed how they are in talks with a newcomer to British Speedway and are confident a deal will be concluded within the next few days.Palovaara was due to come in as a replacement for the injured Josh Bates.Watling JCB Lions asked permission from Edinburgh, under the impression he was their rider this season. But after leaving Armadale after a short stint he reverted back to parent club Glasgow who have told Leicester they can only sign him on a full transfer.Leicester boss Stewart Dickson said: “We fully respect Glasgow’s wishes in this situation but regrettably we won’t be taking the matter further.“We are not in a position to purchase the rider at this time and we have informed Victor. It’s unfortunate for the boy but he understands.“We are now in talks with another rider new to British racing and we should have him in place for next weekend in the big home meeting with Sheffield.”Leicester’s home meeting with Glasgow tonight is off due to the weather and a new date will be confirmed in due course. Josh's average at the minute is 7.00, but from the 1st August it drops a fair bit to 6.35 , so to get someone in like for like, they really need to get someone in before 1st August, which doesn't give much time. Don't know what average a newcomer to British Speedway would come in on? Does it depend what country/ league he rides in ?

In the past any newcomer has come in on 5pt assessed average, there are one or two things that can change though. I am guessing the figures you have quoted would mean the new rider will have the 5pt average. Gamble at this time of the season especially in Leicester`s position but they will get a new asset into the club at least.
