Icicle
Hope so! Meanwhile hope all this tweaking of aves etc., does not make it harder for youth to develop & get up the leagues.

I suspect that the option is if Chapman was approached by a third party to buy Ipswich, Louis would be offered first refusal but if that bid by a third party could not he matched by Louis, Chapman would sell to the the third party. No one knows at this stage whether these deals will work in the short to medium term but it is what it is. I still find it difficult to believe either of them particularly in light of the EADT interview. Louis must have known at that stage what was on the cards, the deal was not done last minute. He has afterall known the Chapman family for many years and last season was probably the straw that broke the camels back. Disillusioned by what happened on the track and the antics of a few riders must have made him question if it was all worth it. Cannot help feeling that something very special has been lost by a Suffolk born and bred promotion selling out let alone to the arch enemy north of the border. Few will trust any results between the three teams. Won’t take long before the seeds of doubt re match fixing are sown.
Spl77
One thing for certain is that Chapman got to make this work if he fails he loses the money ploughed in 3 teams and the top league at least collapses. Brave man.
Icicle
Interesting rubbish on Radio last night re - US. sport "openness" over costs & contracts & money. Would be interesting to know how much Ippo sold for, how much each rider sold/paid??

Brave man. With speedway in the state it is, I think he is very brave and/or his pockets a very deep. No doubt he has done it to keep the Prem going in 2019. Think its more that he is able to partake but not on the average that Ipswich want him to be on.... And would Kemp wanted to ride anyway? Like I said certainly ambiguous - maybe they could use drew on a 4.00 in prem, but Hawkins can be quoted as saying he’s currently ineligible until he has achieved a 4.5 champ average. one would assume this rule and the restrictive points limit in champ is an attempt to create a better distinction in level between the two leagues
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
I think its understandable for fans of all 3 clubs to have some reservations about the situation but until any actions prove otherwise then I am happy to take the positives for all parties The league structure has been stabilised The Witches are in the league that in 2019 best suits them Peterboroughs future is extended Kings Lynn fans get to feel all superior for a while (temporarily of course )

Spl77
I'm thinking we'll see one or two under the radar suprises along with a swansong for Nicholls possibly as captain.

2ndbendbeerhut
Both the deals for Ipswich and Peterborough are "Commercial deals" so think we need to know what this actually means.... Has Chapman bought everything or just a chunk to that both clubs would enable the PL to continue with 7 clubs?
Racin Jason 72
I see it as he has bought both clubs fully and has employed Rathbone and Louis as managers and promoters. Strangely the reason ged gave for giving up Peterborough was purely for time it took to travel down and to concentrate on his own business interests. So perhaps buster has brought him a jet too as now it’s no problem to Carry on

If so it may work the same way as rider transfer by stage payment - payment stops and ownership reverts back....
Daniel Smith
There is a clear miss understanding of the take overs. Keith Chapman would have bought both clubs outright, pay wages to the rider's, promoters and managers etc. Take on the sponsorship funds, and have any profits if there is any etc. The only thing he wouldn't of bought are the rider assets. This is what's meant by a "commercial" take over.

I know we haven't got many, but we've got a jewel in drew tbh.
