Great see the Comets being given the Cumbria team of the year accolade, a real tonic for speedway in general....

.....Laura mentions it is an award for the riders efforts, quite rightly..

...but as they are all scattered worldwide none could join the ceremony....my only thought on that comment is - was Dan Bewley not still around locally?

dan has his health and recovery as his priority . this award presentation was attended by the management and deserved their moment of glory .

chuffing good stuff .well done all .. its been a dream following this team in 18 . roll on 19 .

S Worrall

Campton

Aarnio

Bickley

Jensen

S Lambert

Since BWD has already signed for the Comets, adding those 6 would take us well over the points limit at 39.89

Take out Jensen and add in a 4-point newcomer like Jaimon Lidsey or Joshua McDonald and you're sorted..

S Worrall, Aarnio, Campton, Wilson-Dean, Lambert, McDonald, Bickley

Not far away but cannot see Lambert travelling up to Workington again.

Has Josh Mcdonald qualified for a visa ?

Jaimon Lidsey would apparently come in on a higher average due to riding in Poland last season.

Simon Lambert suited to bigger tracks. Turned down a return to Worky the season after being offered a team when Rye House dropped him. Chose to sign for Peterborough giving travelling distance as the biggest reason. Never advanced from reserve status really but goes pretty well round Derwent Park.

If tth at is the seven riders that Workington are naming it could be a long long season. Put that team up against Sheffield or Somerset who are complete and there not in the same league. Only Worrall there would get heat wins away from home consistently.

Just a comment as I am just still delighted we still have speedway to go and watch

Funny that.

Most said the same about the fantastic treble winners from 2018

Yup and Oyster Card has signed for newly promoted Brum.  Delight & sadness in equal measure for their fans.

Why is that? He was actually very popular in both of his previous sessions with the club.
