Worky v scunny koc leg 2

Recommended Posts

Honestly

Big ask against a very strong and competent looking Scunny side to pull back 18 points on the night and the way things have gone this season I wouldn't rule out "Golden Heats" to decide the winners.

Here's my guess at the teams for the second leg at Derwent Park

Workington

Rene Bach
Claus Vissing
Nicolai Klindt
Rasmus Jensen
Ty Proctor r/r
Kyle Bickley
Mason Campton

Scunthorpe

Thomas Jorgensen
Stefan Nielsen
Jake Allen
Jason Garrity
Steve Worrall
Danny Phillips
Gino Manzares

Good Luck to all; be safe and I am sure there will be more to follow.

No you will be okay getting there it is going back where you mightĀ be diverted through Kirkby Stephen which put 8 minutes on our journey down to Scunny and only 5 minutes coming back. That's if it is closed as the works on the A66 for resurfacing were due to finish on the 22nd of October but if they do need additional closures they are usually between 22:00 and 06:00 hours overnight.

Although last weekend that was 22:00 hours Friday nightĀ until 06:00 hours on the Monday. The bigger ball-ache coming back wasĀ Junction 40 on the M6 being closed which is the Penrith roundabout at the end of the A66. Check on the internet before you travel and to be fair the detours are not that bad and should only put between 15 to 20 minutes on the overall journey times. However as stated the works on the 66 that needed thee closures were supposed to finish this Monday morning gone.

Sorry slight edit, didn't read your post properly my bad, coming up from the M6 to Junction 40 and heading west on the 66 is fine when J40 is open, you will need to check your return journey as J40 has been subject to closures late at night, but heading back isn't much of a detour to be fair, the main closures on the A66 were on the east side of J40 so anyone doing the A1/66 should be okay now (unless J40 is closed) Clear as mud!!!

A very tough meeting for our boys , Scunny have 4 potential no.1's in their team, stronger without Auty and when we met them in the league we had Dan and Ty, but as our boys have showed its not over til the fat lady singsĀ :)Ā Ā

Lets hope we don'tĀ have the ever parading liability doing his show moves all meetingĀ :rolleyes:Ā keep him away from boys you know what a risk he is !!

Its a take on the wombles theme tune... with the line... 'the witches of Workington Comets are weļ»æ'Ā

PMSL-and took me back years (1974 in fact)

Underground, overground, Wombling free
The witches of Workington Comets are we
Making good use of the things that we find
Things that the everyday folks leave behind

Aunty Shazza 13, she can remember the days
When she wasn't behind the times
With her Speedway map of the world
Pick up the papers and take them to Taylor J

Comets witches are organised, but a wee bit crude
Comets are tidy and Comets are clean
Underground, overground, Wombling free
The witches of Workington Comets are we

People don't notice us, they never see
Under their noses a Comets witch may be
Comets by night and weā€™re Comets by day
Looking for Tiggers to wind up along the way

We're so incredibly utterly devious
Making the most of everything
Even bottles and tins but very little shale (allegedly)Ā
Pick up the pieces and make them into something new
Is what we do just for you?

Underground, overground, Wombling free
The witches of Workington Comets are we
Making good use of the things that we find
Things that the everyday folks leave behind

Happy days

Oh and there is going to be a lynching in this office; Just can not take a joke this lotĀ in here,Ā
Even the neighbours are banging on the wall and I am not sure if that's cos they want it louder or not
Or if they are just appreciating my singing!!!
Feck em!!!Ā av turned it up and its on a loop, Yeah, Party Tuesday, now that's a first, ha'ha!!!
Go Wombles! Go Wombles! Go Comets! Go Comets!

Good luck tomorrow night for the Scorpions,Ā  18 points should be enough but who knows,Ā  hope the supporters from both tracks see another hard fought battle and tremendous racing as in the 1st leg,Ā  win or lose though we can celebrate as it's the last time Danny 0 points Phillips rides for Scunthorpe.Ā
