Unfortunately the future of virtually all tracks is at risk from 'developers'. The Showground in particular from what I have heard.

Think the Showground has some Green Belt land that doesnt permit the building of houses on, wasnt there a developer who brought an area of land a few years back only to find he couldnt build anything on it so got well stitched up

Didn't somebody buy the Swingers golf range land (grassy bit on the right as you drive inside the EoES for those trying to picture it) with the intention of building houses? That never happened, as yet anyway. Thought the problem was that the market bombed at the wrong time to put a hold on the plans. However, given that nothing has happened and doesn't look likely to, then perhaps you're right.

So its looks like you would rather have the club close then have buster come in the save the club what if he was to run it till someone else could buy it like he did with the lions .

There's a world of difference between wanting the club to close (which nobody wants btw) and not liking who is at the helm. As long as it's at the right level then I'm sure that we'd all take Mick Horton again if it kept the club going for the prospect of better things.

if Sundays are no longer an option to run then that's a very sad situation at Peterborough.

Sunday was definitely the more popular raceday picking up many supporters from places like Kings Lynn and Leicester, which doubt will happen so much on a weeknight.

i wonder if this was one of the issues that prompted Ged to sell .. shame, things were certainly picking up running sundays

Sunday was a double edged sword. Yes it made good business for the reasons that you state but damaged the strength of the club's local fanbase if the club wished to progress back from where it came as is now rumoured. Sunday was never going to be an option in those circumstances.

The EoES has been under threat for 15 years or more since Mercer and his crew turned up and started selling off the land. I'm surprised that we've lasted so long as it's been a world of grief since he arrived (even though he's no longer in post). How under threat we are these days is open to question. I suppose that the landlords could say at any time that they just can't accommodate us in the shrinking Showground. Then there is the current situation around our Peterborough City Council Local Plan (LP30: East of England Showground 2016-2036). What's the current thinking on that. If we're affected then what's the timescale? Whatever the situation is, the higher profile the club has then the better chance it has of surviving long term.

Thought swingers closed because Mario collected alot of the golf balls!!

Seems strange that people who dont live anywhere near the Showground seem to know whats happening with everything more than people who live in and around Peterborough

Perhaps we talk to people who talk to people....

Anyway Ged doesnt live near Peterborough and he knows whats going on (hopefully) :)

The rumours Buster Chapman as promoter and Rob Lyon as team manager appear to be getting stronger.

Oh and premiership speedway

Social media speculation suggests King’s Lynn owner Buster Chapman is the man set to purchase Panthers.

Chapman is also the chairman of the BSPA management committee.

Rathbone added: “There are a lot of opinions and rumours on the internet forums, but I am the only man in possession of the facts surrounding the sale of the club and at this stage absolutely nothing is confirmed.”

It will be interesting to see who the new owner is not just of Peterborough but also the other clubs currently for sale

New blood should be welcomed - perhaps there may be 1or 2 surprises that shake the sport up for the better

Given that our last two owners were new and perhaps thought that they could shake up the sport, until that was that the cartel ground them down and allegedly nobbled them, then I wouldn't get your hopes up on the Panthers front! If it's succession from within then it'll be same as in most respects.
